GTX 1070 - any takers?

I currently have an EVGA 780 reference card, how much of a performance boost should I see if I get an EVGA 1070 founders edition please?

I Mainly play Fallout 4 on an ultra wide Dell curved screen. I tried it at 1440p resolution and it was ok but I dropped the res down to the next one down. I can't justify spending over £600 on a 1080.

I don't think any of the 1070 cards will be noisy at stock. The card produces so little heat that the fans don't need to spin very fast to cool it, so lower noise.

My 1070 FE is whisper quiet, and I'm very fussy when it comes to noise.

So, from a newbie standpoint that doesn't know much about GPU's like me, would there be anything wrong with me buying the cheapest gtx 1070 possible?

There's a gtx 1070 with KFA2 branded on it on OCUK for £365 and for £10 more there's also a 2nd version with their own personal reference cooler which is £375.

So would you recommend someone like me just buy one of them?

I would have bought the Freddy Krueger £365 one had the msi aero not come in stock first. I'm happy to pay £15 more for one year extra warranty and to not have that box in my house and sticker on my card :D

Other than that though the blower cards should be similar apart from slightly different clocks.

That's good to hear, I've never had a gpu and I've heard horrible things about blower coolers so that's why I asked. Especially cheap ones.

Yup, glad I got my MSI Armor for £390. ;)

I got a Zotac GTX 1070 Amp Extreme ordered elsewhere for £389 which is due for delivery in about a week and the Zotac GTX 1080 Amp Extreme too for £575 with no due delivery date.

Don't think I'll be cancelling those orders ;)
