GTX 1070 - any takers?

Wait, they actually exist!
Scam told me they were coming 13th, then 15th, then Friday, now Tuesday. I ordered about 30seconds after they showed up on their site.

Was lucky enough to receive my 1070 Gaming X last Friday. There is FE and to a lesser extent, AIB stock out there. OCUK is apparently getting deliveries regularly and fulfilling back orders. Basically it's PITA, but it's possible to get cards.

Backed myself into a corner by selling my 970 but I am 40 soon so what the heck.

Ordered the MSI Aero and should have it for tomorrow.

Worth the extra £15 over the Freddy Kreuger for the extra year warranty and to not have to even look at the box or the card.

It would have broken my heart spending £365 on somethin that looked like that!

Need my case modding now and then it's fingers crossed that I can get Assetto Corsa running at 4k DSR as smooth as I had 1080p on my 970.

I love the fact that we have came up with the term clown cards and Freddy Kreuger for these new gfx cards

Anyway looking forward to to my 1070 tomorrow more expensive then what I expected but just had to have one

Congrats on the new cards guys, nice to see some AIB cards in stock now!

Let us know in the owners thread what overclocks you are getting. My FE max stable clocks are at +160/+650 for reference :)

Quick question Cba to trawl through the thread. 980ti or 1070?

1070 all the way:

1. 2GB more VRAM
2. Half the power and heat output (great for the Summer!)
3. Will benefit from enhanced driver optimizations, whereas Maxwell will slowly get worse due to less driver development effort/time.

Will be looking to hear thoughts on the Aero/Assassin Cards. Noise etc.

I don't think any of the 1070 cards will be noisy at stock. The card produces so little heat that the fans don't need to spin very fast to cool it, so lower noise.

My 1070 FE is whisper quiet, and I'm very fussy when it comes to noise.
