GTX 1070 - any takers?

GTX1070 is a no brainer if you have a GTX 980 Ti. Unless your gaming above 4K its going to be fast enough & a free upgrade right now price wise.

Extra 2GB VRam (many PC gamers are already using over 6GB VRam)
Way lower temps
Similar performance within a few % which is unnoticeable in real world useage!

Once GTX1070 is readily available GTX980Ti prices will plunge to sub £300 used & £450 ish new.

rubbish

Everyone says every time that last gen card prices will plummet. That is never the case. Sure the 980 Ti will lose some value but the prices won't decrease that rapidly.

You must be from a different planet then. EVERY time in recent memory, the old generation gets firesaled off at great prices.

~£200 480's and 580's
£160 670's
£220 680's
£250 780's
£300 780ti's

980's still around the £375 mark though. Are you expecting to wake up sometime in the next few weeks and see them at £200, Ti's at £300? I think you're being very optimistic if you expect that anytime soon.

Once there are lots of stock of 1080's and 1070's, of course. All the discontinued 900 series will be sold off.

The RX480 will make this even more likely.

Same thing happens every new generation. Where have you been?

Yes but that will be WAYYY off though... not anytime soon. There is NO stock expected of 1080 customs for weeks yet, 1070 even further out, never-mind 'LOTS of stock'. They won't drop prices straightaway, no need. Deals will be there to be had, but we're talking months from now, towards the end of the year.

End of the year?! Lol.

Prices don't fall too rapidly. I think when the 1080Ti comes out the 980Ti will drop a fair bit. Until then, it will remain near what it is.

Perhaps you need to look back at when 780ti's were available for £300...go have a look.

Keeping the 980ti at £500+ is madness and totally dead stock.

Honestly who really cares what price they get put at???? people want a 1070 they will buy one if people want a 2nd 980ti they will buy them? All this arguing is pointless!

No it isnt. It annoys me when uninformed people spout nonsense. It could make someone think the 900 series wont be sold off cheap meaning they buy one now whilst the retailers rub their hands with glee.

Trying to stick up for us consumers. Be savvy people :p

Yeah I agree but still the market is so one sided everyone has resorted from AMD v Nvidia Fans to Nvidia v Nvidia fans.

Which really just the amd guys trading up for Nvidia cards but still like the arguments lol.

On topic they will fall under 1070 prices as its new tech end of the day the fps is near the same across the range of resolutions the extra ram will not make any difference in games, by the time it does another card will be out to take over just look at the old Titian v the 780ti.
