GTX 1070 - any takers?

I don't mind preordering if it is a good price, you can cancel when ever, and the money isn't taken till despatch like you can do from some places.

If the money is taken straight away they can do one :p

I was under the impression OcUK take payment at the time? Is that not the case?

Yes more expensive than what websites stated before release, however the performance warrants the price.

Titan X is double the price and outperformed..

So when's the 1060 coming out? (don't know if they are releasing such model) :p

Max overclock vs max overclock, the Titan X will beat the 1070.

I am out, at least to the end of the year or until I see what AMD brings to the table and what affect that may have on price (but I am starting to suspect little). At least with having a GPU so old any thing OC's store will seem like a step up. AMD we waiting on you now :-)

They do. They use the manufacturing date of the card to determine the warranty remaining.

MSI warranty is for original purchaser only.

Now, they may not ask for verification, and many 2nd hand cards might have been RMA'd by them, but they do not officially allow warranty transfer - as I say, only EVGA do this.

Titan X is a previous generation card on an ageing 28nm process - I'd hope the next generation cards were around the same performance for mid-range and considerably faster for the high end :S

While true it is an ageing process. They are both still fast cards. 980Ti second hand is a good buy. Especially a 1500+MHz card. Even a card like the matrix is faster than a 1070 on stock boost by quite a margin (OC3D review)

Both 1080 and 1070 are side grades over last gen. 780Ti was £300 within a week of the 980 release.

980Ti prices haven't even shifted.

I agree though a Full fat Ti and Titan pascal really are going to be something. That's what I'm waiting for.

1070 pricing is very interesting.

On the EVGA website there is a 60 euro difference between the founders edition and the SC edition of the 1080.

For the 1070, the SC and Founders are the same price ...and in the UK retailers the SC edition is more expensive than the FE.

lol. It is all a big cluster**** at the moment so I think I will wait.

Does EVGA Ben want to explain that :p?

If Ben's got any sense he'll have his steel helmet on and be hunkered down in his bunker :D

You're right, the pricing is weird. I am impressed with OCUK though. They have quite a lot of 1070 & 1080 cards below the FE price compared to other retailers.

I'm going to be patient and wait for a price drop on the MSI 1070 ARMOR version assuming they don't have bad reviews for coil whine.
Anyone care to predict how long it might be before they drop in price?

Currently without a card sold my 780 to help fund a 1070 but a little more than im willing to pay. Hopefully the price comes down next month when theres more stock and amd 480 comes out. Wishfull thinking.

couldn't bring myself to buy one in the end. the early adopter tax seems to high for me at this point

will be getting one tho in the end when they settle down
