GTX 1070 - any takers?

£400 for something like an EVGA custom card doesn't seem too bad to me, considering the performance.

Be interesting to see what AMD's pricing is with equivalent cards, expect it will be around the same or marginally less.

Its 980ti perfromance.

TBH the clown 1080 at 524 is the better card

This is the only thing i'm waiting for. Might as well wait a few weeks just to see how much the AMD release will bring it down. Then make my decision there.

Makes u wonder if the1080ti will be priced a lot higher then 1080s are now my guess would be £700 to £800 easy

Maybe Nvidia will supprise us and drop prices when the 1080Ti comes out and when they have managed to get production sorted.
Or maybe not :p
We will have to wait and see maybe see if AMD can help bring prices down or even better beat the clown on perf and price. Dunno which seems more likley lol.

Got a 970 this time last year for £300, I remember the average being more like £275 though. so these 1070s needed to be around £325 and up at launch to be fair.

I thought they might be around the 350 to 400 mark but did not expect to see air cards pushing £500. Surely they dont expect to sell many of these ?

will people increase what they are willing to pay or will they just switch over to AMD or possibly GTX 1060 ?

If you already had a 970 wouldn't you want to go to a higher number like a 1080 ? rather than paying even more for another 'xx70' card

Lmao.

This thread yesterday was amazing, thoroughly enjoyed the laughs. Even if I was sorely disappointed by being priced out on the 1070.

Everyone initially mocked the clown, but in the end. The clown always wins.

It was fun yesterday we have to have a laugh otherwise what's the point :)

Like many have said who would have thought the clown out of this would become king..

The king is dead ...Long live the clown ....

Early adopters and those who don't really care what something costs as long as they can have it now will pay. Everyone else will wait and see what prices do. Some will jump in when the price drops a bit, others will go AMD or wait for a 1060 perhaps, if they don't overprice that too.

If the price comes down closer to what the 970 was, they'll sell lots. If it doesn't, then I doubt the 1070 will be as big a hit as the 970, which sold consistently well over a long period of time.

+1
Same thing I've been saying on the 1070 pre-order thread. Though like the 1080, it'll still sell well from all the folks who want 980ti performance for 980 prices. Just nowhere near as well as the 970.
