GTX 570 SIMPLY STUNNING

Don't think fan speed was mentioned.....I see how arguments start :D

I have a few mins, let me go and test and report back ;)

If I don't forget I'll throw in a video together later tonight show the temperature oscilations and current settings. I'll also use some of the mentioned software and see what results I get - if I don't forget

p.s. My fan is NEVER hitting 85% speeds - probably 60%.

My current 570 gets to 90 C and 80% (about 3600 rpm) fan speed with 880 hz @ 1.150 V

My last card was similiar but since, as you know, it only needed 1.037 V, it ran slightly cooler and I never saw the fan go above 3000 rpm in mw2.

Also, he says he has the fan at 50-60% @ 50c, not 85% ):

Sorry, I did not see his second post....You need to sort out Your temps there, Is it reference cooler ? and what case do you have ?

Which cooler does Your card have ?

Stock cooler
Silverstone FT02 with all the case fans removed except the 200 mm fan directly under the GPU which spins at 700-800 RPM.

It is on the PCI slot closest to the i7 950 @ 4 ghz which is cooled by a noctua cooled by 2 140 mm fans @ 700 RPM.

The airflow from the Silverstone FT02 comes mainly from the bottom, through both sides of the clearance under the case, one side is blocked because I have it under my desk, backed up again the side of the left hand side of the desk.

I am pretty confident these temps are normal for 1.150 V because I had similar temps, albeit slightly cooler w/ a slower fan at 1.037 V

Well I don't know what to say really, what does it run at with stock volts and the fan at 80% ? benching crysis like I did ?

Idk, I'll go check in a bit

I just played Crysis 2 demo and at 1.150 / 900 mhz the fan went to 85% and 93c

would i be crazy to swap my msi twin frozr 470 for a 570?

I have a 570GTX and I'm pretty happy with the card performances, but truth be told if I was in your position and your card still satisfies your needs then in my opinion there is no point in changing. The boost itself won't be that big and if you wait you can get better prices and better GPUs. It also depends on how much ££ you have to put in.

However if you do make the trade, I can say that the 570GTX is worth the price tag.:p

Well it runs at 800core no problem but then a gain a 570 will also overclock

Deff. get the 570, a 570 performs almost identical to a 480 in most cases.

A clocked 570 will even perform at least on par with a 580 and a 580 > 480 > 470

edit: It's also probably quieter than your 470.

Cythx, You check those temps at stock clocks and volts yet ?

here you go jakus.

at 1.025 V :

update: 20 minutes later temperature peaked at 88 with the fan peaking at 71%

at 1.150 V :

You have some serious cooling issues in that case, at 70% fan that should be getting on for 30c cooler.

I Just played Crysis2 for an hour with fan at 65% and it got to about 60c max.

Up to You, but You will kill that card, Why the hell don't You put the fan on manual and set it to max (which will be 85%) on std bios and take the side of the case to see if it helps ?

If the card dies, I get a refund :D

Which I would prefer right now

Also, I don't think 90 will kill my GPU, and if it does 'eventually', I doubt that time will come before I sell/replace it.

Why would you remove all the case fans? If you only have 1 case fan blowing onto your gpu then that means you have nothing exhausting hot air and nothing bringing cooler air in. Surely adding in some quiet case fans will help with your temps. With the airflow inside your case being so bad you will never see cool temps. What kind of temperature do you see from your cpu?
