*** GTX 670 Overclocking Thread ***

Both work as well as each other, I preferred to use PX 3.0.2, a more user friendly interface :)
I had a problem with the overclocks sticking on the GPU Clock Offset even if it was saved, there is a download on the EVGA forums that remedys it. I guess EVGA will include it in the next update. :)

hey guys

just got my 670 Asus TOP

Does this look good clock wise for a base?

How far could i OC a TOP card?

Click the little question mark next to the 'bus speed' and 'start render test'. Then go over to the sensors tab and see what your core clock reads, will show you what your card is boosting at from stock.

Yeah I had something similar when dropping back to stock from an OC, usually a reboot would straighten things out.

Thanks, here is the result

I hope Gigabyte release a new BIOS with increased default clocks for the GTX 670 Windforce, they could easily match the Asus TOP for default clocks or at least give users an option if they have one capable.

I noticed the GTX 680 Windforce has a new BIOS on the website, I'm going to send Gigabyte a cheeky e-mail I think lol. :)

wouldnt they do a new card to match the TOP? no reason to give away for free what competitors charge £30 more for...

so how far do you guys think i could push the TOP? if its already good does that mean the most is already from it?

Well, after reading this thread, I have cancelled my EVGA 680 4gb and ordered 2 x Gigabyte GTX 670 Windfroce 3 cards... Will post results in the near future. :) Also coming with the cards is a Hazro HZ27WC. Excited is an understatement!

I hate to put a downer on this but will 2GB be enough for that sort of resolution? Just a question :)

Yes it most probably will. There are a few cases of 3 screen (5760x1080) just just starting to bottleneck at 2GB and a single hi res monitor is 30% less pixels to play with, so 2GB should be fine for the foreseeable future.

Even 3 screen 1440p only bottlenecks QuadSLI 2GB in BF3 if you run 4xAA, with FXAA only it is fine.

With TXAA coming out in the newer games this will help stave off VRAM requirements at this res as well.

At Stock my Core clock being 1150, and memory clock 1500 is a score of 1700 at 1920x1080 and normal settings?

are you talking heaven on 4xAA and 4xAniso on normal tesselation?
should be a bit higher than that - low 1800's maybe

1200 - 1250 core are getting 1900's on those settings
