**GTX 690 NOW AVAILABLE AT OcUK!!**

Fab looking card and really very impressive with regards to performance basically matching or not far behind dual GTX680s, whisper quiet and runs astonishingly cool. The price, on the otherhand, is madness. Think I'll hang on for a second hand GTX680 when 'real' Kepler is released.

Thankfully I'm off to Florida on me hols in 3 weeks where I will be looking for a reasonably priced replacement for my 470GTX as I cannot find anything here. The UK prices have gone mad.:(

I could afford buy one of these, two if I wanted, but I wouldn't dream of it, why? Not because of the insane pricing (which is insane), It's more to do with the fact that I don't like been taken for a mug by these big companies, in this instance Nvidia.

It would seem that it isn't too bad, OcUK is just pricing uncompetitively. If you look around you can find the Asus GTX 690 for £90 cheaper than OcUK is offering it for, and a differently branded GTX 690 for a bit under £800.

That competitor won't be getting stock!
Anyone can set a price they want if they never intend on shipping any.

How could you possibly know this? Do suppliers tell you what they supply to competitors? Do you have insider knowledge of competitor purchasing?

Interesting statement to say the least!

I think he just means that said competitor has put the price up on their website without consulting the supplier first and when they go to the supplier and ask for X units at Y price they will say no and thus have no stock to sell.

Although that seems unlikely as I doubt they would do that.

I really can't take Nvidia's pricing seriously anymore. If they are charging this much anyway they might aswell charge £10,000 per card for all the difference it would make.

Yes I know where the first batch of stock is going, which is only to NVIDIA direct partners, so only their longer standing and better performing customers. As such OcUK will have near 100 units in stock over the next 1-2 weeks, similar for some of the other big names. But the smaller companies will be lucky to get a couple of units let alone any. As NVIDIA allocate stock according to sales performance of GTX 680, as such this is why were getting so many. :)

As such companies advertising crazy low pricing attempting to secure a load of orders is simply mis-leading as they won't be able to deliver to the customer.

So on one hand I can understand why they go so cheap, in an attempt to win orders, but on the other hand it does nothing for them long term as 90% and potentially 100% of those who order one won't recieve a card, or certainly not in an acceptable time frame.

Gibbo, are you allowed to say if these will be released along with the 670s on Monday? If yes, any aftermarket 670s available or am I going to have to wait for those?

Those are the 10th and they are a virtual design, so on the 10th OcUK shall have plenty to choose from including several uprated cooling design models from Asus, Gigabyte and KFA2. :)

Thanks for the info ;)

Will be looking forward to see what options there will be - I'm looking for something that's going to run nice and quiet.

Hey Gibbo,

What's stock allocation like for Friday?

The competitor I placed my order with to try and save some money have just informed me that they won't have any of their "cheap" stock til June :(

I've cancelled the order and would like to re-order with OCUK for saturday delivery.

Which brands (if any) have un-allocated units available for this Friday?

Thanks :)
