GTX 780 Owners Club

We do not disagree, however the whole point was that doesn't worth to get from GTX780 to GTX780Ti if you can overclock it.

Because lets be realistic, the extra money do not worth the extra 10-12%, especially when you are well over 50-60 fps to start, on everything you play atm.

EDIT

Fixed the issue with performance I had. Wiped out every single folder that hold settings of my games. Purged all AMD drivers, and had to reinstall motherboard ones. And all goes well with the fps looking normal.
Crysis still crashing on load though, even at stock speeds (factory overclocked). However there is a clean system installation tomorrow, and everything will be nice a fresh.

Bah even with +100mhz offset on top of the stock (993) I still can't keep 60fps with txaa on. Had to adjust the fan curve as well so it's somewhat noisy as well. I suppose a overlocked TI might have that extra juice but for £200 more I'll might have to leave it be.

Seems stable at 1175 core as 1188 has artifacts in valley.

You have given the extra 38mv to the card, along with 106% yes?
Have you made an aggressive curve to work at ~80% fan when is at 60?

At least mine works quiet at 100% fan so I do not know how much noise your produces.

Btw which game you try to have txaa on, and at what resolution?

I'm considering giving watercooling a go early next year - either in my current case or in the ATX Parvum if it's available. Will I see any performance benefits from my 780 (besides less noise)? I suppose I could give it some more volts if I could pluck up the courage to follow the instructions in Gregste's overvolting thread.

Yep to all that. Loudness is subjective I suppose but for me it's loud at 70% although gaming sound drowns out the noise.

Batman origins I can't use TXAA in particular sections of the game, it'll drop my fps to 40s so had to use FXAA. Physx is a killer but it really adds to the game imo.

Same with AC4 - can go up to TXAA x2 and maintain 60ish most of the time. Not maxed settings mind you which disappoints me a fair bit about this card and PC gaming in general.

If only 720p and 30fps was enough :(.

Hi folks, first ever post so go easy on me!
I'm in the market for a new GPU, my budget is around the £400 mark, i would like a GTX 780 but i'm unsure as to what specific brand to get. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi

i can highly recommend this one :D

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-114-GI

I have had mine a few weeks now and its fantastic its so quiet i had to check the fans where running :o also if there are any issues they have uk support which is supposed to be excellent :)

Thanks Peahead, At this point i can be easily swayed in any direction at the moment.
Top of my list right now is the EVGA Superclocked, but i'm open to suggestions.

I have a superclocked and I can say it's a wonderful card, nice and cool / quiet and overclocks very well (maybe i was lucky :D)

Oh and you get EVGA's nice warranty ;)

I'd say Gigabyte or EVGA due to their warranties, but tbh there's nothing much between them other than that and how they look / fit your colour scheme.

Excluding the Lightnings, iChill X3, HOF & Classifieds, all seem to clock within 5% of each other which doesn't make that much difference in-game.

I have a PNY GTX780 XLR8 OC since Saturday, and I am very happy with it.

Very quiet, runs cool, and below 65% fan speed you cannot hear the card over 4 Enermax Magma fans, which are running at 18db. :D

Look at bit-tech.net for a recent review if you wish.

I just installed a second kfa2 780 for sli and was thinking about a slight overclock but was so impressed with my benchmarks running games etc I didn't see the point.

What do you guys think of overclocking a pair of 780's ? Am I being greedy or should I just leave them as stock ?

I thought this forum is called "Overclockers UK" not "Stockclockers UK".

What sort of question is this?

MORE POWERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :D

more noise mate! Think I might run mine at stock as I have a r4 window arriving soon so I'll be propping the case on the desk instead.

I am baffled. With the FX8350 I was able to overclock all way to 1201 core. (1293 boost). (and confirmed it tonight going to my colleagues house who has my FX now).

However with the 4820K@4800, I cannot do more than 1149 core :/ (same settings)
FYI lowering the overclocking of the 4820K I was able to raise the overclocking of the GPU. However the overall result was lower than with the 4820K@4800.

Tested the OC of the 4820K and is fine after 15 runs of IBT at max setting, and hasn't failed me at all while playing games either.

Any thoughts?

EDIT

Managed +169 core (1174 with 1267 boost) and +500 ram (1801/7204) :)

I wonder if I can push it to +50mv from +38mv
Max VDCC is now 1.2v and Power Consumption 104.7% TDP.

Thoughts?
