GTX 780 Owners Club

Wow pretty quiet this thread :)

The card & system overall are superb. Have thrown to it everything and just is spitting everything out. Even Vision 3D works properly now :D

Also got my EVGA 650ti SSC (2nd hand and cheaply), overclocked it a bit, and after playing quite a bit Batman & PS2, decided to run fluid mark and see how it goes.

(got 12348 at the 720p benchmark)

At 1080p, I do not believe is that bad score tbh. The 780 was working at 98% and the 650ti at 69%. While at 720p benchmark, the values were 94% 780 and 70% 650ti.

Also cannot understand why says my CPU is running at 4624, while actually was running at 4874 when run the benchmark.

Guys, I wonder if anyone is using their 780s to mine litecoins? I already do this using my 7990 system with no issues but when I try to set up cudaminer in order to utilise the 2 780s in my other system, I am getting no hashing.

I installed cuda 5.5 (64bit) and set up the .bat file in the cudaminer directory but when I run it, no autotuning takes place and hashing never really starts. The script appears correct and is taken from my pool's configurator.

Are there any other dependencies required in order to mine with Nvidia cards which I am missing?

Finally installed my Gigabyte WF 780 ghz edition

Its fits and things look pretty, can't hear it and temps are low but not pushed it yet.
Will do some proper benchmarking this weekend unless I get distracted by games.....

I am baffled. With the FX8350 I was able to overclock all way to 1201 core. (1293 boost). (and confirmed it tonight going to my colleagues house who has my FX now).

However with the 4820K@4800, I cannot do more than 1149 core :/ (same settings)
FYI lowering the overclocking of the 4820K I was able to raise the overclocking of the GPU. However the overall result was lower than with the 4820K@4800.

Tested the OC of the 4820K and is fine after 15 runs of IBT at max setting, and hasn't failed me at all while playing games either.

Any thoughts?

EDIT

Managed +169 core (1174 with 1267 boost) and +500 ram (1801/7204) :)

I wonder if I can push it to +50mv from +38mv
Max VDCC is now 1.2v and Power Consumption 104.7% TDP.

Thoughts?

If could be a PSU issue ! I've seen this before.
What kind of amps does your power supply deliver on the +12v rail(s) ?æ

Got my EVGA GTX780 FTW ACX installed yesterday. What a huge card it is after having a GTX670. Unfortunately there are no blocks for this card so it has to get by with a core only block. I have left the cooling plate on top of the pcb and stuck heatsinks over the places the ram and vrm's sit to help shed the heat. Stock clocks are 980 core, boost 1033 but actually boosts to 1150 out of the box!! Vram is Samsung and the Asic is 87.3%. Never had a card that high before. I will have to see what it will do over the weekend.

Need to install HWMonitor :o

I will replace the PSU early January. Going to get a fat 1000-1200V one.
The one I have atm is a Corsair 700W dual rail and is almost 3 years old.

It works fine and cool with +169 atm, and holds well with the overclocked 650ti.

Btw I was thinking this PSU for dual 780 or Maxwel + 650ti + 4820K next year.

Any thoughts.

Good units those are, take a look at the superflower 1200w platinum too, costs more but Gibbo did say they were essentially 1500w gold units, not bad for a ball hair over £200 :)

Pretty much just at reduced efficiency.

I'm in the same boat as panos, running an old dual rail corsair unit (hx1000) that just isn't going to cut it anymore :)

GTX 780 Zotac Amp Edition v2.

Overclocks to:-

Has Samsung memory, I've not found out the limits yet on the memory's OC. I've left it at 500 so far (7200mhz).

Just bought a 780 wf tonight, how much would two of theese use in sli when oc'd with a 4770k at 4.5ghz on 1.2625v? I currently own a hx 850 but it's a bit old now.

You look almost 600W if you overclock those 2 WF around 17% (+55W @ ~17% OC according to reviews)

Add 200W for the 4770K, 4 DDR3 dimms, keyboard, mouse and one hard drive.

You will be OK if that 850W is of good quality.

(FYI add 25W if you have BluRay and 50W if you have DVD/RW but I assume you will not be running the 780s at 100% while watching films of burning DVDs )

586 max currently on the 670's at +80/+500, cpu at 4.5ghz on 1.2625v. Thats running firestrike, one ssd and one hdd, optical drive and probably a xonar DX sound card and 9 120mm fans. Thats total draw including the monitor as it's connected to my monitoring unit too.

If your going to flash your bios and overvolt, I would get a decent single rail 1000-1200w.

As Titans and 780's draw some serious juice when overvolted :D

Otherwise just get another decent 850w, again a single rail version.

Some questions if you don't mind

Why is it people are mostly using the evga precision over afterburner when overclocking this card? I have the wind force gigabyte 3 version.

I'm looking to overclock it without touching the voltage. Any tips? :D

It's much different than my prior card. Instead of showing my core and upping the number, its just showing a 0. I take it i just add that number to my stock core? Ehhhh i hope I'm making sense.

using afterburner currently
