Had an MSI card at xmas an kept BSOD so returned it an changed it for the Giggy gpu, out of the 2 the MSI was deffo louder unless it was a damaged card.
Can't even hear my Giggy when playing games.

Will I be looking at much improvement with a second Ti?

Possibly a faulty card. The MSI's fans run under 1500rpm at full load.

Glad I didnt get that one now !
My b grade Gigabyte came today and its superb. No more red side. Idles about 36/37c and played a couple of games and was not going over 66c. Ran Heaven and it maxed out at 73c and its so quiet. Boosts to 1150mhz too.
I think I might still install afterburner and play about with a custom profile.

Mine has never run hot or noiseymind you I've never overclocked it

I'd wait a bit if you can to see what happens. The 780ti's should drop a bit.

Just tried manual change and its only noticeable when I go above 60%
69C @ 51%? That's much much better than mine.
After 25 mins of Heaven it hit 80C and 63%.
Though mine does run at 1200mhz.

I always run a custom fan profile regardless. Some cards run hotter than others just like some will clock better than others.

Mines a Coolermaster 311 and I havent done a custom fan profile yet.

Something not quite right with MSI Afterburner its not recognising the 780's clocks at all just says 0 for everything.
Going to do some more testing tonight as I want to make sure its fine. I have been looking at the BIOS to make sure its not been modified and I've often wondered why they say it has a default of x and then boosts to y but when you try the card yourself the actual boost is a lot higher than y.
In the bios its set to the first boost entry which is default 1019mhz and boost 1189mhz yet they advertise it as default 1020mhz and boost 1085mhz. My 770 was similiar. Doesnt make sense.
What settings do you use for 1220 ?

Yeah its always been that way since the 600 series. The card will boost quite a bit over its advertised boost clocks.
Mine runs at 1220mhz at stock settings, as it's the Ghz edition.
