For review benchmarks do Nvidia have a clause that cards like the 690 can't be compared to after a certain amount of time?

I want to see how the high end of a few years ago compares to the latest and greatest but its never there.

Go look at firestrike scores for a rough idea.

That is a stock 980 though. Still snapping at its heels/matching the 690 though in a lot of the tests. Overclocked it is at least on a par, if not faster.

posted this in 970 owners, whereas I should really posted it rather here:

I own 2x 2GB Asus GTX670 (OCed it's faster than 680s) in SLI.

is it worth selling and getting single 970 if I only game 1080p?

295 vs sli 980.

The 980s are better, can't deny it but I honestly can't see it being worth the time (or money loss) selling up, re buying and re blocking etc just for 5-20% depends on application. Wait for 980ti or what ever the full fat offering is called if you really want more performance.

Performance gains are good. What resolution you at?

The important question is are you struggling in any games? Do you need to upgrade?

If I were you I would wIt a bit longer if you don't *need* to upgrade!

There seems to be an awfully large price difference between the 970 and 980 given the relatively small performance boost. A 970 is £260 whereas a 980 is £440. You could very nearly buy 2 970's in SLi for the price of a single 980

If feels like Nvidia are marking up the 980 purely because it's the flagship card at the moment as it definitely doesn't justify the £200 price gap. From the benchmarks I've seen 2x970's in SLI are definitely the way to go for bang per buck high-end performance.
