Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 (2023)

They been a bit lazy with Groot, having the guy in a suit rather than pure CGI. Hope it turns out better than what we seen in Xmas special.

Loved the trailer, for a moment there it looked like Peter was dead but after watching again i was sorta right, he looks like he is dead drunk.. Not a big fan of some of the other Marvel stuff that has been released recently but i will definitely watch this and Quantumania when its available to stream.

I dont really get all the hate for GOTG2, i honestly think its better than the first. I wasnt ever a big fan of the first movie and though the dance off at the end was just silly but i get that its supposed to be silly. In GOTG2 the story is pretty great, the acting is great and the emotional parts really hit the mark (Peter/Ego, Peter/Yondu, Gamora/Nebula) hopefully the new movie will be as good.

Sometimes I think these movies work better in the cinema as a 'one and done'

I remember really liked GOTG2 at the cinema "I'm Mary Poppins y'all"

But when I re-watched it on 4K blu-ray it was bang average.

I watched it at the cinema and was very disappointed. Sometimes I just think that directors catch lightning in a bottle. GotG is one of those. I also think that as soon as sequels are on the table far too often people get involved who shouldn't. People who are trying to push a formula. GotG is probably largely responsible for the bloody awful road that Marvel films are increasingly going down. The comedy action film.

First GotG was great. Second was bang average because they did what they always do. "People liked X, lets turn that up from 5 to 11".
First Watiti Thor was great and the second was ******* awful. Again, they took everything that was good about Ragnarok and turned it up to 11 and forgot to actually make a good film.

I will always take story over spectacle even when I am in the cinema. A good film on a big screen is great. A bad but pretty film on a big screen is still a bad film. Avatar was still an overly long tech demo with no heart of soul.

I agree with most of that, but have you never watched something at the cinema, thought it was good, then re-watched it later and changed your mind about it?

I had it with Episode VII of Star Wars.

With comedy type films I'm often 1 and done.
Both guardians are kind of like that. But not as bad as deadpool. Now that (the first) I loved the first time. Second time.. Well its lost its impact.

Couldn't agree more. They've forced the same comedy/action into all the mcu films I just can't stand them anymore.

Gotg 1 was amazing. 2 was OK. I'm wary the 3rd will just be another mcu film.
