Guild Wars 2

Am I blind or is there not a section on the forum for GW2? Just wasn't sure where to look for information about your guild's plans for the game.

I just had a quick check and the GW2 sub forums are set to members only, try create an account and it should make them visible.

Shame the guy in charge is an idiot.

I've stayed out of most of your arguments but tbh it always seems as if you start as many of the arguments as he does :p. If you don't like him then that's your opinion, but he has run The Immortals successfully in many previous games and Nemeses along with the other officers, such as myself, will continue to keep the guild running in all the big games coming out, such as TSW, GW2 and PS2. There are other guilds that form on various games for OcUK people, but The Immortals is the only one that I know of that is consistent from game to game and always welcomes good people from OcUK.

We haven't picked a server for launch just yet as just like SWTOR and previous MMOs we wan't to make sure we play with other great guilds. For example SWTOR initially had a setup where you registered your guild before launch and it would auto pick a server for you, the problem with this is that the server chosen has Ruscorp on it, and a large portion of my guild (myself included) have had nothing but bad experience playing with russians (ruscorp in particular) such as cheating, exploiting etc... So what will happen is closer to release there will be discussions with some other guilds and we will try to decide on a server later on.

The nice thing with GW2 though is that on release it will have the ability to swap servers at will, and participate in that servers PvE. And if you want to change your home server (to participate in WvW and gain the rewards) then a small fee can be payed to do that. And from the sounds of it this will all be there at launch. Hopefully though we can get a lot of OcUKers on the same server, even if some do decide to play with other guilds.

I'll be along playing with you guys again Dist (played with you lot in SWTOR until I got sick of the game and it was always great fun with you guys!) but I wont buy until a week after launch until I'm back from the honeymoon. Play at being good husband :p

a small fee as in real money or in game currency???

Real money. The game is free to play so things like server transfers, ingame cosmetic stuff and some other little items that give no real advantage is payed for with real money. Server transfer costing money is not uncommon, usually it's only free if it is from/to specific servers to correct population balance. GW2 at least allows you to 'visit' another server with any of your characters at any time for free, which is something no other MMO does to my knowledge. There are limitations when 'just visiting' though compared to moving your home server, such as you can't participate in WvW if you are just visiting.

aah poor LateX, next will be his sidekick acknor :p latex hates us cause he got caught reporting people to the swtor GM's for breaking NDA during beta, and he even got that wrong :D ..and acknor cause he got booted :(

But for you guys only way to find out is join and see what we like.

Its kinda funny they say the guild leader is blah blah, but we had more ocukers in our guild than the rest combined and its funny they all seemed to be pretty happy.

They must all have something wrong with them then :D

Yup think this is bloody brilliant as well, now at least you can test out other servers if you want with out having to re-roll on that server.

I will/did stick up a thread which I will do again closer to time where we can hopefully list which ocuk related guilds will be on which server and then all try join the same one.

Be great for when we do world PvP (as Dist will tell you I have the little general syndrome :p)
if we can get 4/5 guilds organized to do world PvP ...ahh I drool at the thought

Bear in mind that you can use in-game currency to trade for gems to buy these also. Obviously we wont know what the exchange rate will settle at until after launch.
