Guild Wars 2

Seriously every time I see the Guild Wars 2 logo I immediately think of Dragon Age 2 which is not something anything wants to be associated with ><

Hmm, considering it's a sequel, i'm guessing it's worth playing the first before playing this? Despite this is becoming available soon?

I won't be forking out that much on the collectors edition as i've no interest in a statue but i might grab the digital deluxe depending what's in it. Usually i just buy the normal editions of MMO's but i reckon Anet deserve a little extra for not having a sub.

Most agree that playing GW1 isnt really worth it now. The games are really so much different, only the lore and name make them relate.

You can get the swtor CE for £50 now, and they let you use the CE cd key to upgrade an account to CE status, meaning you can buy the CE now and still keep your current account. Hopefully GW2 will do something similar, as it's a nice CE but not worth the price.

Aye that is one thing thats making me wary about GW2. Everything that made GW good seems to have been left behind in an effort to make GW2 more 'familiar'.

Tbh it says a lot about the level of intelligence most MMO players exhibit when you think about how often you had retards saying 'but GW only goes up to level 20' as if that actually meant something.

I was hoping for something along the lines fo the previous 3 GW CE's it appears they've gone the greed path :(

Digi Deluxe for me probs, or poss a steelcase edition and a few preorders around the place depending on preorder bonuses

along the lines of what? the previous ce's had about the same (or less) crap in.

Yeah, but without the model and costing less than half. Quite a difference in my book.

Nightfall CE was perfect really; I wish there was that kind of deal this time around.

Jeez, the more I think about that digital deluxe edition, the less I want it. A few one-shot items that will mean nothing in the long run. A companion that does nothing except follow you around. An instant banker for...five days?! A piece of jewellery with low stat boosts that will no doubt be superfluous when you acquire some gear. And an elite that may (or may not) be useless compared to your other elites. And no soundtrack FFS!

Of course, being "digital" only also means that wherever you can buy it - Steam, Gamersgate etc - it will be staggeringly expensive for weeks and weeks after release.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I think I'll go for the bog-standard edition. Preferably retail from an e-tailer.
