Take away the fact I said content, what about features? I don't get why people are defending everything about this game so adamantly like it's completely perfect as it is? Surely you can see there are some flaws with it?
Sure GW2 has flaws, what game doesn't, but of all the MMO's released in the past decade, it has the fewest number of flaws and offers a pretty complete package at launch.
Games like Rift, SWTOR, Linage 2, Aion, Tera all had issues which detracted from the game experience, some were great fun to start with but had absolutely no end game or content to keep you busy.
I'll use SWTOR as an example as its the most recent MMO i've played extensively.
SWTOR released with great success, it had minor issues with connectivity, it had queues on servers which they soon resolved by adding dozens of new servers to curb the population increase. Content wise leveling it was great, the story was interesting and fun and kept you busy.
Once you hit level cap, things changed, it had a handful of operations, most of which were bugged and/or broken, Ilum was a dissaster, which can be blamed entirely on the very poor implimentation and the games engines inability to cope with large numbers of players on screen.
End game for a majority of people ended up with doing 1 operation a week and then standing in Ilum on a daily basis win trading. This went on for weeks.
By comparison, WoW when it launched had almost exactly the same issues, it was impossible to connect to servers, when you did it had horrendous queues and the only raid in game at the time, Molten Core was very much broken. There was no PVP at all other than open world pvp on pvp servers, which was basically zergs farming lowbies in and around Tarren Mill.
It tooks months before any "instanced" PVP was added and open world pvp didn't really get much attention until much later in the games life. Even then it was very lackluster in comparison to other mass pvp games (DAoC, Warhammer Online etc)
GW2 on the other hand has launched with 8 dungeons which can all be finished (although some are buggy), exlorable modes for all 8 dungeons which are again completable but have a few bugs. Instanced PVP which works fine, and open world pvp which is an absolute blast.
Not forgetting the robust crafting system which allows you to make end game gear, a very good auction/trade system and content that you cannot ever out level.
How often did you go back to starter zones in wow, swtor or any other mmo with a max level character. Never I bet.
I have been playing GW2 now since the 25th August, I have racked up over 350 hours in the game, and still enjoy it just as much now as i did on day 1. Infact even more now than before as I learn new things and get better at old things.
My latest time sink has been the trade post and making a ridiculous amount of gold on it. I have 5 craft skills that are all at 400 skill, 4 alts, one of which is now 53 and of course my trusty midget warrior who has full exotic gear and multiple dungeon skins.
Anyone who complains about a lack of content in GW2, just isn't looking hard enough, maybe you should go back to playing with Panda's instead.
