Guild Wars 2

I still can't help but think this TP trading thing is people BS'ing because I have been looking at it and there is never any profit in it that I can see, you can't even view the variety of sell prices unless there is something I am missing.

We talking instant buy and sell or placing bid/ask offers?

If we talk instant transactions then it is possible but very cercumstantial and hard to find and is not there for long, can't make any large sums that, most I made was 10silver. the problem is, those instant sell offers are in small quantitiy (maybe 10max) and rest is not profitable, so it's really not worth it.

Now if you have patience then it is quite easy to make money of trade post, but not in 100s of gold, it all depends on how much money your "investing".

Buy 3 orich bars at 6s 30c, make orich greatsword blade (or whichever orich based items is selling for highest at the time) and sell it for 26-30silver depending on time, prime time (after 9pm uk time) prices spike up as there is much more demand.

So as a result you you spend 18s9c to buy mats and get back 25-30s, so you're profits per gs blade after deduction of fee (@15%) is 3.2s - 6.6s
or 17% - 35% return on investment.

I don't really think that the end game is to much of a grind. Each time I play, I do a circuit of Orr to farm nodes and join in on any events on my way around. This takes about 40 minutes and after which I sell up and go and play WvW.

I find I actually enjoy doing the PvE element like. Historically although I've played a lot of different MMO's I've always hated the grindfest but for some reason GW2 doesn't feel this way to me (yet).

I don't particularly like being called scum.

Maybe you shouldn't buy gold then? If you want to feel fine about screwing over the majority to make it easier on yourself, go ahead. You can justify it any way you like, but the bottom line is that the game would be better for everybody else if you didn't buy gold, which leads to the conclusion that the game as a whole would be better if you weren't in it.

While I think the terminology being bandied about here is a bit harsh I have to agree. Gold buyers wreck the game as without them there would be no farmers, bots or hackers which exist to service their lazy needs.

Remove gold buyers the rest would be solved.

prime time (after 21pm uk time)

21pm!!?
No wonder I level much slower than others you guys get more hours in your day. I only have 12 hours in my pm...
:p

EDIT:
With regards to buying gold if ArenaNet really wanted the Gems to Gold thing to stop people buying from Gold farmers they should make the rates more competitive.
I don't know what price the gold farmers sell for as I delete the e-mails without reading them, but using the in game system £8.50 gets you what, about 3g 50s?

IMO best way too make gold is running between the events at penitent in ruins of orr, you can make 1g in about 1.5 hours with next to no magic find, good mf will net you some good yellows and oranges and you can easily make 1g in less than 45 mins

It will get patched,so be quick

This. The whole Anet buying system is horribly flawed as it is so clearly weighted in ANets favour that buying it you know you are just giving them money and not really helping yourself. It needs rebalanced a bit, it will never get rid of gold sellers but it could help lessen their impact.

Making 1g p/h is in no way excessive, keeping people earning **** money reeks of trying to force you into buying from Anet. But with their **** rates it's no wonder gold sellers prosper.

dont really get the problem Gold has always been hard to get in GW. They only kinda made it easier in the GW expansions.

Often some other account that uses that email has been compromised, or at least the existence of that email has been discovered. They then mass test all the harvested email address and find out which ones are connected to Guild Wars accounts.
