Guild Wars 2

Seems like there's a lot of people mentioning the end game, or rather a lack of. Will they address that? Seems like a pretty big issue. :/

They go with the idea that the whole game is the endgame, which in truth means there is no endgame. They seem perfectly content for it to be more of a co-op game than a true MMO, most MMOs suffer to a degree from a lack of things to do at endgame, this game suffers from a lack of any endgame at all, different thing.

I'm loosing interest in GW2, unfortunately. Loved the first one though. Looks like I prefer instances than MM, Not really liking the zerg-fests, or the solo emphasis of the game. Or the lack of dedicated healer class, which is what I loved to do in GW.

all mmo companys like to span out there content and not dump it all on launch day, its been the rule for all mmo companys for years!

theres still stuff to do, it can get boring sometimes but thats where a good active guild will see u away from bordom.

Theres always other games inbetween :)

You were racist and thats why you got booted
ofcourse I was...
You have no proof I was ever rascist and you never did.
All you had was someone claiming I was with no proof at all and that was probably made up BS from one of your core members any normal person could have pressed print screen and had some evidence.
I also quit SWTOR long before you claim I was banned

You embarrass yourself every time you come into one of these threads with the same old BS and lies trying to destroy the reputation of anyone who doesn't agree with you.

after 20,000 posts on this forum most people realise I'm a no nonsense kind of guy that's often very blunt and speaks his mind even if it might not win him any friends or do him any favours.
I'm definitely not the type of person to make up lies and post stuff that's not true

While playing yesterday around 4pm onwards there was a bit of an argument going on in guild chat. 'Arknor' kept going on and on about the current problems in swtor and when others tried to point out that the game was just released and will get better (myself included) he just kept on complaining and bringing up comparisons with WoW.

The complaining got to the point where 2 other guild members had to put him on their ignore list, and I received messages from a couple of people, and people were saying in guild chat, that they don't want to play and have to listen to the constant complaining.

I know everyone has to vent once in a while, but when you complain (and continue to complain after getting warned by an officer to drop it (I warned him)) to the point where other guild members feel the need to use their ignore list, then perhaps something needs to be done.

There was also reports of arknor and another guild member sending racist/swearing messages to each other, but I have no way to confirm that.

I'm not sure what the policy is on this sort of thing, but at the very least I think we need to keep an eye on Arknor .

Got 4 more people that came forward said you were being racist, this was not the only reason your were kicked but what the final straw, tho would have got you kicked outright anyway, that post was made by Dist, who uses these forums regularly, who a lot of people on here know and I'm sure most think is a fairly decent guy, so no way he would do this just for spite.

I removed Acknor from the guild today, take it we never found who the other person was, if any member is caught been racist, there is no need for a discussion just remove them or let me know and I will remove them no questions asked.

my reply to the above post.

Thought the admins said no more of these attacks :( ..as I'm sure everyone is sick of hearing it from you 2 and me replying, but when the comments are just such utter crap I have to defend the guild.

Its funny I never post about you or mention you guys but you sure are fixated on me and The Immortals.

Added entire thread covering this: http://www.mmo-guild.co.uk/addons/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?5539

here we go again

So it would seem apologies in advance, I try to ignore as much as I can but I have this guild for 12 years now, thats a long time to just stand by while a few idiots continue to badmouth it and not defend it.

No idea why they keep thinking this is the place for it.

Forum is much more enjoyable with Latex and Acknor on ignore.

Just a thought.

On topic - I'm playing GW2 more than ever. I purposefully left out WvW until that last few months but have been having a blast with Iron, so much so that I've hardly played any PvE content. Makes a world of difference to be part of a coordinated team in WvW.

And before anyone asks, my main is an Engineer, one of the allegedly "broken" classes. Don't see it myself, I just think most people have no idea how to play the class effectively as it does take more than just facerolling ;)

I still play and so do loads of others Im not as active as I was, as very busy at the moment, but still get on every day even if just to the daily.

I Loved the engineer one of the most fun class to level.

the only attacks are always from you on a personal level against people who have an opinion that differs from yours or when someone speaks out about the experiences of being in your guild.

In before nemeses gets his guild members to start posting. oh wait....

BTW if anyone ever finds racism in an mmo they should contact the GM's who can look at the chat logs and take appropriate action.

I'm playing Necro, another of the broken "classes" and it's great fun.

I think a lot threw a hissy because Anet hasn't copied the insane wow approach of fotm class and constant needs. They know that things mostly balance out and are carefully tweaking as opposed to the nerf/boost mess wow became but I think a lot don't like playing a class that isn't OP. I loved wow but that's the one hangover from wow that I hate!

The endgame argument is completely redundant, if you don't like the game and prefer the trinity approach that's cool but most are saying "I hit cap, geared up then there was nothing to do apart from the same stuff" there is not a single mmo out there that is in any way different from this (excepting Eve)

Only in other MMOs they usually try and pace the income of the gear. I was decked out in gear that was as good as you could get within 2 weeks of launch, and that wasn't really me going out of my way to do so, it just happened. In WoW you get gear on a curve, you get a lot very fast, then the last few upgrades can take months on waiting for drops or w/e.

Whether you like that style of gear grinding or not, it's the carrot on the stick that keeps you playing, GW2 lacks any sort of carrot at the end game. I really did want to play it for as long as I played WoW and I'm looking forward to future content that will pull me back in for another whirl, but I didn't find any gameplay past the levelling experience beyond trying out each of the dungeons and the world bosses which didn't take that long.

I can appreciate the gear improvement argument but gw franchise isn't about getting better gear. They have a gear roof so it's down to player skill in pvp not gear. It's all about skins and looking better but I suppose I'd that doesn't interest you fair enough :)

This, but on top of this I think there is quite a bit to do at end game, and it will continue to grow

But there was sweet FA interesting stuff to go hunting for. The game was good but not good enough I was happy to just hang around in the world for the fun of it when there's so much top-notch competition out there these days, which is a shame.

I guess it depends on what you find as fun, I still enjoy quite a few of the dungeons, you can always level other characters, as quite a few a very different, so levelling is still fun.

Then on top of that there is the WvW, which was always the end game target for this game.

Ahh yes, running in an eternal circle capping towers, what fun. Player vs Door rather than Player vs Player
