Guild Wars 2

Griffon Knights are on Desolation, old DAOC/WoW guild (I've been in it for 10 years) and a mix of older and younger players, heck some of the members even have their teenage kids in it.

Not a huge guild by any means though, but we do help each other out a lot which is why I've ended up in them after being in two large GW2 guilds that I didn't feel I fitted into.

Immortals are nice too though - I was in them originally, moved away to play with mates and ended up coming back to Desolation, but joined back up with my old guild when I found out they were around.

Sounds good, i am not after a big guild or anything, i don't mind being guildess, but would prefer to join a decent casual one if someone was offering the invite. How do i go about getting a invite?

trying to complete the world map at the mo, currently at around 80%.

Just hit a wall...80 with nice exotic gear on my Warrior...he's awesome...Started a Mesmer, sat at 30 and I just can't come to play it anymore...game is awesome...

I am exactly the same, I have a Necro who has done a ton of stuff, In fact a couple of hundred hours of playing! But I made myself a Sylvari Elementalist and a Charr Warrior I just can't seem to get into it any more, It's a great game :) I just seem to have fallen out with it for the time being!

Still rocking Guild Wars 1 though ;) On occasion.......

I've gone Sylvari :D Both Mesmer and Elementalist. The Ele I am doing is new, going dual daggers and by god it's powerful

^Yeah, D/D ele is powerful.
I'm not fond of attunement switching, which is the reason why I haven't leveled an ele alt yet, but can't deny that is one of the most powerful combinations.

I've picked up that combat mod again - didn't like it the first time, it caused too much slowdown/stuttering. Now for some reason it works better, and I'm really enjoying the combat.
Makes the thief so much more fun, that's for sure.

Make sure to zoom all the way in to the character - move the camera position all the way to the right and lower the crosshair. Feels like a TPS! :D

Anyone else having graphic glitches with Post Processing on HIGH? I get random crates that look like there glowing...it's odd...turned PP to NONE or OFF and the game looks better...

Mesmer is a pain to level, I only got mine to level 80 today and started it on the day the game was released. It's a lot better 60+ but feels like a lot of effort/mob until then. I essentially did it on dailies and crafting whenever possible. Once you get to a certain level you're able to leech XP off events but I really don't think it's much fun to play until later levels. However that may have been caused by me using staff - which is perhaps the least fun weapon to use on the class.

I now use Greatsword and scepter/torch ( have gone confusion spec for mayhem it provides). You do need to weapon swap to keep phantasms going and allow you to shatter regularly when necessary but the best thing about my spec is trying taking on champion mobs solo, find the right champ and it's far more fun than any other class as I've got an army of phantasms and clones at my disposal.

Staff is good and I do sometimes switch to it instead of GS, but it lacks the mayhem/amusement factor for me in PVE :p

Oddly enough my first level 80 was a warrior, second was a Ranger, third a guardian and fourth a Mesmer. Out of those four Mesmer was by far the hardest to level and Ranger the easiest (It's still my "main" too).

I'm doing the Mesmer with my mate who is doing a Necro, we work well together...he has gone beast master so to speak and I am doing clones/GS...it's madness as nothing survives long...

I hit that about 3 weeks after launch ^^ It's a pity the game has this wall, hopefully some of their planned additions this year will make a difference as I'd like to return to the game in time.

My main is D/D ele. they are powerful indeed. Takes a while longer to get into, but very very rewarding. The character has such a nice flow to it in combat. The fact that you keep yourself alive in melee range, being the most squishy class, just by using magic and being fast is awesome. The recommended spec doesn't even use the armor (earth) or damage (fire) talents (0/10/0/30/30). Unfortunately the recommended spec is more or less the only one that works.

I need to see a vid of that combat mod, it might make me a better thief. Just a little worried it will get me banned. :D

Or drop me a message/tell in game to my ranger "Atkin" and I'll pester an officer for an invite. :p I'm running a guild group through Arah + whateverelsewefeellike on Friday evening, no set group - just turn up and when we have enough we'll hit the dungeons but there's a few people grouping up to level lower level characters, especially with the new story quests and dailies.

I got a significant way through the refugee achievement on Wayfarer Foothills last night where the Refugee Dolyak caravan spawns at the NE zone line at the same time in the same place as regular Dolyak escort event.

The regular event enemies kept attacking the refugees and so by simply allowing the event npcs to slaughter the refugees, I'd roll in to the rescue to rez the refugees, run out of range and wait for the refugees to get slaughtered again ;)
