Guild Wars 2

As far as the next beta goes, they've said they are testing stress on their servers. So I'm expecting quite a lot to be invited. Trade off of that is that it will be almost definitely laggy as hell.

Not really. They should know what to expect so they should be testing if the servers can cope as expected not whether they will struggle or not. The excuse that you're stress testing won't go down that well if people find it unplayable.

Stress testing is generally done at the end of the development cycle, along with optimisation, while one can expect thousands of people to join they will invite in a staggered fashion. This is to ensure the game is still playable for those invited and allows them to adjust server capacity caps until they reach the limits of the server infastructure.

hope they give everybody 10,000 ghost in a box to spam in the busiest towns like people liked to do in GW1 lol, that will stress test the servers :p

Aw man I was hoping that it would have been the beginning lol I am struggling to find games that will keep me entertained until this comes out. I am playing Aion to pass the time I think, SWTOR Doesnt do it for me now.

Also waiting for Dota 2, ME 3, Diablo 3.

Has there been any announcement of GW2 CE?

Not yet, that I'm aware of. I'll be at the front of the queue for one though. I'd sell my granny if need be. And a kidney!

I'd even be prepared to be one of those people who camp outside Game for a midnight release! :D

Decided to do a bit more reading on the background to GW2 and I'm pleasently surprised to find Jeff Grubb is onboard and has his fingers in a few pies, Lore and partially responsible for "Dungeon stuff".

Another plus point for me, always liked his FR novels :)

Well I doubt Game will be around by the time that GW2 eventually launches, so you might have go either go to a supermarket or buy it online. The times of camping outside stores for midnight launches seems almost over in the UK(There is still HMV but they're about as useful as a wooden sword..)

Am I the only one who thinks that the press beta was abit too early? There was a massive build up of hype around that and the beta sign-up however they seem to be losing that hype as people realise just how far away the game is from launch...

Totally right on both points. Public beta should have trailed on from press beta by about a week, at max two. Even if it was only a limited public beta, at least that way we would have had more footage being put up for others to watch and to keep the "hype" going. I guess Arenanet have spent so much time and effort on the game they just want to wait until it's perfect then go crazy with the marketing..

Luckily for you that isn't the video they wanted you to like their facebook page in order to see, this is:

(No idea how to embed it so if somebody does feel free to quote me and do so, thanks)

Kind of a "meh" video, it isn't long enough nor cool enough to keep up the hype so it serves very little purpose... Ahh well, a video is a video I guess..
