Guild Wars 2

Have they said at all whether they are sending out another wave of beta invites for the upcoming weekend? Although I prepurchased and have access from that, I'd like to still get a beta invite for the good lady.

Someone please explain to me. Me and a friend have been trying to work this out.

I play a character and i level it to max level. Where is the end game?

They claim you don't need one or there isn't one, but yet what will I do when I hit max level? If the answer is pure PvP, then i'll just move along.

Yeah I did wonder that.....it doesnt bother me at all if there isnt "WoW style Raiding" as I love competitive PvP....but I did wonder if there would be any kind of Raid system for the people who like that kind of content.

A more focused PvP game hopefully = better balance and awesome PvP content.

There wont be any kind of 'raid' or similar content that forces grouping to party sizes of greater than 5. The developers dont like it, and the fans of the game dont want it.

Making groups for end game content in GW1 was hard enough with a party size of 8, one of the main goal of GW2 is to eliminate time wasted by 'LFG'. They cant accomplish that with 20 man raids, and this game has a very strong solo player mentality among its fanbase, where players expect to be able to log on and play any content without having to wait for a group to fill like they could do in the first game.

There will be unlimited open world dynamic events, and lots of 5 man dungeons.

There is plenty of end game in the first game - US, FoW, DoA, Urgoz, Deep, Sorrows Furnace, repeat the whole game in hard mode, dungeons, vanquishing .....

Enough for this much time spent and I've still not finished it all:

GW2 will be bigger than GW1, thats a fact.

If you want to get a feel for end game content in Arenanet's games, play GW1, complete the game to unlock HM, and then do HM DoA, UW, Shards of Orr and Slavers Exile.

Prepare for immense pain and difficulty like no other MMO / online RPG you've ever played before.

What is puzzling me is if i was to play this game, i put in lets say 2 months of work and i've "maxed" out my character in regards to completing all the zones and i've hit level 80 and i have all my 5 man dungeon gear. Would there only be PvP left for me to do?

The WvWvW has quite a bit of a PvE element to it too, so you may well find that you enjoy it, even if you aren't a bigtime PvPer - give it a go imo, there'll be quite a bit of PvE content to get your money's worth anyway.

To compare to DAoC; we had some pretty hardcore PvE guilds and even though the game's focus at endgame was RvR (equivalent to WvWvW), they still had plenty of content to play through. Also, to break up the raiding monotony, the PvE guilds often descended upon RvR en masse, causing havoc, good times! I think GW2 will have even more to keep you busy PvE wise, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how much fun the WvWvW will be too. :)

Appreciate the reply. Thanks.

I'm guessing that with the influx of pre-purchasers, they probably didn't need to send out another wave. As I say, this is purely speculation though.

That's a question that really NO-ONE knows the answer to. As during the beta events held so far, no-one has been able to reach level cap during a Beta event, and no-one has even reached the end-game areas.

However I'm sure that Anet have learnt from GW1, where there wasn't much in the name of end-game content until after Sorrow's Furnace and Tomb Of The Primevil Kings, were introduced 6 months later. Before that, end-game was basically only consisted of Underworld or Fissure Of Woe.

With each of the expansions there was more end-game added, Urgoz, The Deep, Domain of Anguish, EoTN Dungeons et al.

When you couple this with the fact that you are sidekicked DOWN to the area you are in, you will not run out of things to do. There will be a complete crafting system, auction house, and permanent mini-games in the various cities.

I don't see the end-game of only consisting of PvP to be of any concern, Anet are NOT that stupid.

Also sidekicking up has now been removed if anyone missed that. You cant increase your level to play higher level content, your level only sidekicks down to go back to older areas.

There will likely be a hard mode added much later on like in the first game that 'sidekicks' the entire game up to level 80, or at last I hope so.

6,098 hours played time is insane, bhavv!
I have 271 over the last 70 months over all characters...

My main account has over 14,500 hours.. and I have a couple more that are in the 1,000's of hours.

Which will only affect instances, not the general world population.

You've got over 600 days of game time? How? Do you just leave it on all the time while actually doing RL? I can't fathom it and don't want to cast aspersions, but that's got to be close to being detrimental to your actual life.
