Guild Wars 2

I think I may call it a night. I managed to play for about 20-30 min before the servers were officially meant to have gone live, but around 20:00 I disconnected and have not been able to log on since. I made it to the character selection screen a few times but each time after selecting anything I get an error and the screen locks up, none of the buttons work, I have to alt tab out and then close the program.

Got on and it runs fine for the last 2 hrs, the people in here loving the mayhem that obviously comes with an unfinished product need to move on. Getting a single player product to beta is hard enough so god knows how much effort went into this.

I suppose you have to expect trouble but having the entire first night a washout is a bit of a disappointment. Ah well, I'll join everyone else in trying to get in early tomorrow :p

Haha, I'm glad I'm providing a service!

I clicked your link and watched about 4 minutes. During those 4 minutes you were stood in chains suffering a lagspike for about 3 minutes, and then after the connection resumed the game suffered a fatal error and crashed to desktop.

I feel this is indicative of most people's experience :p

Well I eventually crashed (repeating sounds, frozen screen etc) so obviously still some bugs, I couldn't log in straight away again so calling it a night. The game seems great though, it's good to see that there's actually skill involved, if you just stand there and tank things you'll die lots. You have to keep moving, try and distract enemies onto guards/minions etc to survive. Also I didn't really find the skills spammy, you can play like that, but I found it better to try and use them when needed.

Yeah that was just now, the game's been fine while I've been logged in otherwise, I've had bits of lag from time to time but the servers are crammed (I was playing on overflow servers and even those seemed very busy) and I'm streaming so those could both be a factor. Tomorrow I'll try without streaming for a bit and seeing if I still lag, hopefully the servers should be a bit quieter too so it should be a better indication of how much of it is the actual game and how much is other factors.

The other people on mumble I was speaking to didn't seem to have any problems once logged in. :)

Is anyone else having performance issues? Im running an i7 at 4Ghz with a 680 and am struggling to get 60fps when in the main world at the lowest settings!

Got into the char creation screen a few times now but, freezes there. Time to call it might and hope its sorted for tomorrow.

Nothing quite that bad here but I am noticing that the game is not using hardly any of my available resources... CPU/GPU usage are in the 30-40% regions. The gw2.exe forces itself to be 'Low' priority on my processes list, as well... quite puzzling for a beta test, really.

Had a couple of hours, it's busy like Time Square at Christmas. However, I'm struggling to get decent frame rates even with my rig. Anyone had better luck? CPU load around 30% on 4 cores, GPU load about the same on both, so it's doing some crossfire, but not really well.
