I havent prepurchased this yet. Is the game good?

When you prepurchase form the official site, do they email you a code, that when the game becomes available you input for access?

Are the beta's over now then? I only ask because it says the forums are closing today. Do they normally do this in between beta tests?

It's very good. They email you the code instantly and a link to register your account, with your registered account you can then partake in the beta weekends and of course play immediately on release.

2nd beta weekend just finished, they do normally wipe the forums between the betas after they've taken the feedback in.

I've been back on GW since playing GW2 Beta and managed to get to the final showdown with hench/hero group. Anyone still around playing the guild wars eye of the north able to get to the final chamber area to give a hand?? Infact is there even an ocUK guild?

Still playing GW1 here.....and the final chamber in Eye of the North is quite straight forward if you have your aggro controlled and the correct hero builds / weapons.

IF you wipe, just keep going !!

I've just upgraded to a 7970 and an SSD - considering my decent performance on max with my 5850, and that the beta was very much CPU limited, I should be looking forward to a happy GW2 time. I can't wait!

Cheers guys i'll do a google search for these builds - what are your in game names and are you both getting GW2? Thing I have 7 chars but the one I'm using at the mo is Dagrim Webstar (dervish).

Just been getting stuff unlocked in Hall of Monuments. Scary to see my account was initially created 2006.

Currently at 26/50, 27 is easily done over a day or so. (just need to max ebon vanguard title) but other than that it's a lot of work solo to get the rest of them and although the release date hasn't been announced I'm not sure it's really worth it as the last few items don't yell "GRIND FOR ME" - so I think I'm almost done.

The Beta was a blast

Mainly played my ranger with a GS/axe + warhorn.
Explorable mode AC was...well for a lack of a better word frustrating, but it was fun.

I'm also at 26/50 on HoM, though I have yet to display my Tormented, Destroyer & Oppressor weapons. I've then got about 6 hours grind to get my LDoA title, Currently level 17 to get my 30/50.

Only on 25/50 myself and I can't go any higher.
Been playing since the first beta.
The rest requires some sort of grinding, which I am highly against.

I feel like I should roll a ranger first as they get the most rewards from the HoM.

I'd roll what ever character you'll have most fun with. You can easily get a pet for any character, plus you could just tame a rare pet and get the 'rare pet' and 'any pet' statue at the same time.

No, I meant in GW2. A lot of the HoM rewards are pets/bows/torch which a ranger can use.

Ah sorry about the confusion.
I haven't looked into the gw2 titles yet, may go do that now. In fact I'm now dreading finding out that there's going to be mass amounts of titles requiring mass amounts of work ahead of me.

The rewards are purely cosmetic and regardless of what class you pick - you will get a skin for each weapon and an armor set.

I have 41 points, which is firmly where I will be staying, no patience for most of the obnoxious title grinds.

I know they are cosmetic but cosmetics mean a lot as max stats are the same for everyone. It just seems that rangers get the most from the rewards. Though I'm sure they will soon be replaced by new stuff in game quite quickly.

Boss downed, nice to get it all tied up ready for GW2 and to see the albeit small and not much happen ending that ties the story to GW2.

Noticed my dervish hadn't ventured factions so might just run through prob pick up more HoM points on the way. With nothing else to play at the moment apart from Arkham City on PS3 its quite nice for nostalgia to be on Guild Wars again.
