Guild Wars 2

I've been too busy recently to join in any of the beta events. The release date's spurred me on to actually purchase the game. It seems the cheapest I can get the normal edition is £33.71 from a famous supermarket, and the deluxe edition for £48.71 from GMG.

Does anyone know of anywhere with better deals?

£33 is an absolute steal for this game, I wouldn't expect to see it go lower.

Just watched this, knew nothing about Guild Wars.. Now all of a sudden I'm interested! :D

That's quite a old one, tho a good one :D

Indeed, I'm very much looking forward to this. I think it could be massive. I've tried almost all of the MMO's that compete with/or have been made since WoW.

As the guy touched on in the video, the production quality and tight controls are essential, most things have got this wrong compared to WoW.

SWTOR had a lot of excitement around it, then it came out and started to collapse after roughly a month, and it's still struggling badly now. Rift was the same, but fared a bit better. TERA never really had that much interest, and hasn't done all that well, despite being fairly decent. Warhammer and the others were disappointing too and were never really going to do well.

It will be fascinating to see how this turns out. The F2P model is a bonus, as long as they don't abuse it in order to get more money, if the game is as good as it looks, they won't need to do that anyway.

The only money abusing I've possibly seen in the betas is fast traveling, I think it costs too much. Then again Ive only seen all the starter areas. Is it still expensive at level 30?

After about level 20 the costs just seemed insignificant enough to me - to the point where I didn't even think about them and just fast traveled whenever. I dont think it scales with level either, just with distance.

The costs to respec trait points felt high though.

For this very reason my hype level is very low, I was not heavily impressed with GW2 TBH, tho think the world PvP could be fantastic.

Only game coming out right now thats really getting to me is PS2.

Saying that I'm enjoying TsW a whole lot more than I thought I would.

The Secret World? I know nothing about that! I only heard about it the other day. :p
