Guild Wars 2

Bit of Necromancer Theory crafting:

http://gw2.luna-atra.fr/skills_tool/?lang=en&code=38a2g09t4t87ifh924apafa505g5m6bhahb

Scepter + Focus
Axe + Dagger

With the S + F you have Feast of Corruption which does 8% more damage per debuff and with this weapon load out you can apply at minimum 3 debuffs with your attack spells, boosting Feast of Corruption's damage by 24%, which is very nice. Also allows for some nice control with spinal shivers and if you apply that to your target and then switch load out and cast deathly swarm you can slow up to 4 targets, so quite nice in a pinch.

Then you have the A + D. Deathly swarm which will apply blind + confusion to your target and 3 others, then if you apply 8+ vulnerability stacks then your damage increase will be very nice. This load out will do huge amounts of burst damage.

Trait wise we have 5 stacks of might when coming out of death shroud, enfeeble when going into death shroud and a longer time in death shroud. You gain health when ever you hit, crit or kill someone and when you kill someone you summon a pet. Also increased damage per condition on the enemy and faster life force generation.

Overall this is a high survivability necromancer spec aimed at PvP.

Quite looking forward to playing this game, just bought a new GPU too :) Hopefully I can hop into one of the friendly guilds from the board :)

Well us but we not very friendly ...just ask the opposition :D

We will roll the guild on Desolation server!
The Immortals said:
In war torn Tyria The Immortals band together to take on the onslaught of nations and nature. With battles waiting around every twist in both path and tale, only by working together can we hope to survive. Humans, Charr, Asura, Norn and Sylvari - we fight alongside, defending our comrades to the death. Join The Immortals and take on everything Tyria has to offer - and win!

So, OCuk GW2 Engineers, what are your thoughts on the class, mainly looking at PVP?

I PVE'd the engi over beta and found it to be fine and quite fun to level with but never had the chance to PVP, would like to hear your thoughts on the class, specifially in structured 5v5 and WvWvW! :)

Cool, will keep an eye out for you guys on release :)

You could pop across to our site, there are a few things that we require from all people who join even from ocuk, 1) sign up to our site, 2) have a headset so when doing guild events like WvW you can at least hear whats being said. 3)use our raid planner, without knowing numbers its hard to plan/run events, and the guys who are part of us from here know how much we love (see me) love PvP ...so we tend to have quite a lot of events, and no you don't have to join them all, but be nice if you did a few.

We will most likely run a WvW event every night at the same time, those people do not need to sign up for, as its a general event (ask the sith in swtor every night 7pm to 8 pm GMT we raped them)

You can find us at www.mmo-guild.co.uk or www.gw-mmo.co.uk ..we don't bite ...much :D

With every RPG I play I almost always play a warrior.

Whats the most fun spell caster, mesmer, elemtalist or Necro.

Was thinking of playing Necro, but looks complex?

A PvP match from BW3 for people to get an early idea of how a competitive match may play out.

Also a jumping puzzle in the Asura zone. It blows my mind that there are apparently hundreds of these to be found in the game, so amazing.

If you have a name beginning with "Joe" then that is what is reserved for you from GW1 providing you log in before July 31st. From then on all other names beginning with "Joe" are open for reservation from GW1 and then open to the masses on the 25th August Headstart. The single name "Joe" is only available first come first served on the 25th

There will be multiple "Joe's" walking around each with different surnames (from GW1) but only one with the single name "Joe" (GW2).

Hope this clarify's.

I dont think that's right (or it's poorly worded). The only names you can reserve are Guild Wars 1 character name, and these must have a space in them. If you reserve 'Joe XYZ' this reserves that exact name for your account, it doesn't reserve any variation of the name, just that exact name. The single word name 'Joe' will be on a first come first served basis because its not a name that exists in GW1 and therefore is unreservable.

I didn't do too much pvp but from what I saw in big group combat I was good using nades and skills to CC a lot and drop my aoe causing quite a bit of mayhem.

1 on 1 I wasn't massively effective but that may be because I was learning the class and couldn't work out what was most effective :p

Hugely looking forward to this game. Not been able to play any beta weekends and so finding class choice very tricky. Seems like there are some great options! I know this is fairly subjective, particularly as no one has seen past low to mid levels, but how would you rate the following classes in respect of damage and survivability?

Warrior
Necro
Elementalist
Thief
Guardian

Scores out of 10.

Just for fun really...

I've been playing some GW1 recently, I really hope they bring back the Ritualist in a future expansion (presumably we will revisit Cantha and Elona at some point) as I always though that class brought something fairly interesting to the table.

The warrior with a 2h sword was great fun, like a wreaking ball.

Elementalist was a lot of kiting and switching between magic schools for the situation.

Necro i played the most (level 23) involves a lot of weapon switching and understand conditions. But it had great survivability and great potential for group and solo pvp'ing.

No one class can fit both those categories on its own.

You either got a balance of both or have one or the other.

So I changed my class from Guardian to Mesmer last beta weekend. Now watching Necro footage and wanting to give that a go!

Can we have another BWE before launch please?
