Guild Wars 2

The only people that have reached 80 have done it either through the exploit or some other mechanism (the guy that did it first had his whole guild giving him crafting materials then he did it with crafting) The average user will easily get 150-200 hours before 80 I would have thought.

And where exactly did you hear that? Because you are completely wrong.
He got to 80 streaming every second of it, and he did it all from leveling while in a group doing hearts + story etc.

He is also 80, streamed every second of it, completely legit doing hearts/story mode etc.

Oh and the guy that got to 80 first was not an exploit, he did it legit to 60 and then got his friends to send him materials to get to 80, it's not an exploit, its smart.

yea i agree. most of us would take 150-200 hours to reach max level and unless u are playing this game 24/7 it would take the "average joe" a month or more to reach max level.

even if u did play 24/7 it will take u over a week to reach level 80(on the assumption u dont use cheats/exploits and it does indeed take 150-200hours to level to max).

please read what I said above, no cheats, no exploits, and it didn't take 200 hours.

I never quite got the reasoning behind rushing leveling its almost like gimping your own game play I'm only level 22 and having fun, I'm in no rush to hit 80, will get there soon enough anyway.

It doesn't matter in this game due to the area-nerfs you get when you go a lower level place so you can still have fun and get loot for your level.

I didn't say exploit  I said other mechanism that 99.9% of players won't do. Judging the length of a game based on a few exceptional cases is ridiculous. That's like judging the length of other games based on speed runs.

So i played a bit more last night, and finally got a bow! Wooo...

I like the use of using abilities to gain others and the mix and match between weapons - but does that mean there is only 5 abilities per weapon, I was primarily going to be a bow user as a ranger - but just 5 core abilities seems a bit dull - do the talents etc... add to anything?

I actually do miss the speed of levelling in DAoC. It took forever to level up to 50 on my Necro and Scout. Admittedly I don't remember a great deal of quests to do to get extra xp.

That was a long time ago now though and with the amount of mmo's out there all competing for our money I doubt anyone will release an mmo with that duration to top level.

Anyway I shall take my sweet time and smell the roses, if there are any in game, along the way.

How the f do I level crafting in this game or is it supposed to be mother of all grinds?

Im lvl 27 and I got armor and weaponsmith, both around 22/75, I am currently in lower lvl zones running around collecting copper but after hour of running I barely get one point further >_< and damn jute is non-existent argh

You kind of have to break that mould of thinking, as you'll only be playing 20% of what your class is capable of. Later on you get quick weapon switching, and you can mix bow use for pulling, crippling etc with melee weapons for close in work.

Plus in melee your abilities change again depending on your offhand weapon. It's actually really good once you get into it.

You get traits and sigils and stuff later on that mix things up further.

Bit pointless tbh, his entire guild funnelled mats to him so he could craft his way to 80. Smart, to be able to say "I got to 80 first!", but not really a smart way to level.

Fix incoming for the overflow problem, sorry if old

"When this bug is fixed overflow servers will keep parties together and players will be able to travel to the same overflow server as any friend or guild member who is in an overflow"

info is on www.vg247.com if you want the source.

yeah but when was the last time non subscribers could just go to a website and grab a beta key for wow. Eurogamer have like 1000 of em. I don't even play it and I can now lol anyway back on topic, so I have to stick items in the discovery window to find new plans?

Really peeved that my disc didn't come in the post today. Slightly disappointed with Amazon. I was really hoping to get playing today, certainly won't be using them again when I'm desperate for a game. Anyone want to give me their account :P ?
