Guild Wars 2

Just sunk 6 or 7 hours into the game with my 1st play session, love it. Time just flew by. Got my human Guardian to lvl 6, an Asura Ele to 4 and a Asura thief to lvl 3 (plus a norn ranger and charr warrior that I havent done anything with), still don't know who I will lvl as a main.

Its so refrshing being back in an MMO that feels like a world just waiting to be explored and not a spoonfed, on rails, this is where you go and dont you dare deviate from the path style mmo that has become the norm for the genre in recent years.

Yes I'm having some performance issues, lag and whatnot. But considering my current spec is just above minimum I expect it (tip for those that get lag hits I've found that an alt-tab out and back in works wonders).

If anyone is on the fence, buy it you wont be dissapointed.

The grouping issue has resurfaced for me today, spent the last 3 hours trying to get into the same overflow as the missus, was fine the last couple of days but seems to be back with a vengeance :(

To all those who say it isn't social.

How many times have your partaken in events with people you never see again?
Have many times when downed has a stranger rescued you?
How many times have you done the same?

You don't have to have a chat whilst you do these things. If you want to chat with people you know why aren't you going through this with your friends/guild?

I am in the same guild I have been for ages and we had a real ball going through it all in small groups. I think Inkursion in just a young bloke who popped his MMO cherry to WoW and sees it all with some rose tinted glasses. Nowt wrong with that -for me it was SWG.

This is a great game, I am however doubtful of the longevity but that is the same of any non-sandbox where the PVP is a grand capture the flag. It's been a good MMO launch and we haven't had many with the exception of LOTRO, Rift and a few others. WoW was one of the most broken MMOs released it's just people were more forgiving then.

i think you will only be able to get a physical copy for a few days as the lead dev/said they would stop selling copies if the servers got too rammed to enable them to concentrate on giving a top game experiance to those in game currently

I've seen a few websites that are selling keys but don't know if they are reputable. There's no where near me to get a physical copy so might have to look at ordering from somewhere online.

I love this game but I don't think it was quite ready for launch.

1) The auction house is pants. Its incredible slow and keeps breaking - I've bought a few things, been charged, and then the items have not arrived.

2) I can't even log in at the moment due to my IP address not matching the one I signed up with (wtf?!?!?). When I authenticate it through my email account I get an error message!!!!

I agree on the longevity of WvW. It could get tiresome quickly if there are no more objectives and you can't get decent rewards from it.

Zerg v Zerg with no point will be boring fast. After 2 hours I was finding it a wee bit tiresome.

Actually are there rewards from it? Pretty sure there aren't but I'm not 100% :p

I'm going to give it a miss for now. Was looking for some coop and some banter.
If the curiosity to play is still there I might pick it up on payday anyway..

Dude, The game is called Guild wars. You don't even have to party up to enjoy co-op battles etc and that is from pretty much the very start.

I constantly find myself getting in trouble and some nice folks jump in and help me out. I could easy strike up some banter with said folk but normally just say thanks.

I found the game for £32 digi download and it's easy worth the punt.

Agreed, this is 100% a coop game, where Warhammer almost got the public quest right GW2 absolutely nailed it. Quests are much more dynamic and more imaginative than any other MMO. Very seldom are you doing a quest just for yourself.

So how are people liking the game? :) I've yet to do any PvP yet myself as am very immersed in the PvE and general exploring, having got Ranger to 80 and found myself rerolling however am now playing a Warrior at level 30, should've just rolled it in the first place; always end up going to a Warrioresque class :o

Hi everyone. i am having trouble logging into both the game and the forums.

in the forum it says this: Waiting for authentication...

Please check your email. A link is included which will allow you to authenticate this login attempt.

No email gets sent to me. Same kind of message on the game client. cant login and no email get sent to me for me to authenticate my account.

any suggestions?

Check your junk mail and add "[email protected]" to any trusted sender list if you need/have one. Other than that if you're on twitter you could send them a tweet.

Few people having the same problem this week, my email turned up 20s after I launched the client (I'm on Gmail btw).

Yea im on gmail as well

i found a old email activation that i recieved Aug 22 and i clicked that and it said my account was active yet when i try to relogin again it complains with the same issue ie "waiting for account to be active"

On the game client, the "waiting for activation" appears and then after a few minutes later i get a message saying the game client is unable to gain access to the login server at this time.

The bulk of their players will be trying the game this weekend for the first time, the servers are therfor choking due to traffic

I'm in the same boat as you, not getting any emails at all.

*edit*

We are aware of the issues with the email authentication system and are investigating them. We will update you as soon as we know more about this. Thanks ^SL

Guild Wars 2 detected a possible hardware malfunction ;/

It was working just a few hours ago. I don't have any overclock running and now the game will not launch. Any tips?

I'm currently running the repair command on the exe to see if that fixes it.
