Guild Wars 2

This game has me hooked again, :) I cant wait to fly home tonight so I can play again over the weekend. Doe anyone on Fissure of Woe server fancy partying up and showing me the ropes at anypoint this weekend?

Hi All, played with my my yesterday for two hours on co op.
My question is when we finished his story I had to do mine. Is this correct?

Is there another form of co op that I have missed? Thanks.

If you are on the same story step (the mission name and level will be the same) then you can both progress at the same time.

If you are on different story steps then you will have to take it in turns to progress.

Your missions are based on several choices. Early missions are based on your selection of Race, and the 3 questions about your past you choose when making your character.

Later on you will be asked to join a faction (Durmond Priory, The Vigil, or Whispers), which you choose sets up the next set of story missions.

Then again later on still you will make tactical choices that will change your storyline.

If you want to progress together you'll want to try and make as many of the same choices as possible. :)

I really want all the ascended gear but when I calculate how long it's gonna take me to get it I think what's the point. I know there needs to be some form of grind to try and keep players playing, but I don't have the time to put 2-3 hours into just this game a day.

I've only got the ascended necklace.

Trinkets and weapons aren't that hard to get ascended versions of.

Just doing your dailies/monthly will net you a 3 of your trinkets over time.

Back piece you can either buy with gold, or earn through fractals play.

The other two trinkets are best done by doing guild missions, and there are pleanty of guilds set up that run guild missions every day, pop along to those once a week for a month and that's those done.

Weapons are a bit of gold sink to get to lv500, though if you make stuff like Destroyer weapons, you can actually level to 500 without spending a penny. It just takes a while to get your money back while you wait for them to sell on the Trading Post.

Once at lv it's only about 75g for an ascended weapon if you buy all the parts, or if you have some stuff already farmed you can offset some of the cost.

Armour on the other hand is a damn hard to get a full set of. Very expensive to level to 500, then you need to spend a lot of laurels, gold and karma just to get the recipies, then you need a crapton of materials, a good chunk of skillpoints for Auger stones, etc. You are easily looking at over 600g for a full set of Ascended armour... which is rather painful!

Luckily it's by no means required to do any content. It's just a goal for people with too much time and too much gold :D

Yep it's just my "need to have the best" mindset kicking in.

I wonder how much different it is going from full exotics to full ascended.

Also where can you buy the ascended backpiece with gold?

The Quivers / Books:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/List_of_ascended_trinkets#Back_items

50 Ecto, 250 T6 Material, Philosopher Stones/Crystals (skill points), and 1 Vial of Mists Essence.

So yeah you do have to to a little bit of Fractals to get the mist essence (but only low level stuff). Once you have that it's just gold and skill points.

Or if you are really rich:

or

Require no fractal items at all, but do require a TON of gold and lv500 crafting.

Yup, Fractal one is the cheapest, because it's entirely made from collectable tokens earnt by playing.

Quivers and Arrows, require some gold, some skill points, and some fractal items.

Grenth and Dwayna, require an buttload of gold.

So it just depends how you want to go for it :D

Yeah, first good living story in update in ages. Very impressed with the redesign.

Definitely got me hooked again. Although it was impossible trying to play last night!

Does anyone get over 60fps in this game?

I manage about 70 FPS on average, only occasionally dips below in the high population areas. That's with everything set to maximum, 2560x1440 running on a 780ti/i7 3770K.

Jumped back in after a good 4-6 months out and had some fun over the weekend, like the Lions Arch stuff. Can anyone point me into the right direction for a decent ele build? Also any guilds roaming around that wouldnt mind a casual end game noob? I'll only be on a few times a week, havent seen any fractals or even killed Zhaitan :p Happy enough just roaming around exploring and doing PvP before hand.
