Guild Wars Questions

Yeah, Factions was the first expansion pack released, if you want to do it in order then move to that next.
Doesn't really matter too much though. Personally, I'd go over to Nightfall. :)

I've yet to complete Factions, slowly trundling on. (I've had it for years... :| )

Need to sort my Rit's skills out and get back in the game.
 
You can move into Faction or Nightfall (or EotN) when you reach Lion's Arch. Which is about 1/3 way through Prophecies, I believe.

If you want to travel to other continents, bring the map out and click on the boat.

You should really join a guild :)

One of the most important thing to do later on is farm for a couple of decent elites. Although that can be hard if you need access to areas.

If you are starting in Prophecies, I do recommend that once you get to Lions Arch, that you at least START Nightfall, if only to get the starting heroes. And once you get to lvl 10 at least START EoTN for some more heroes. In the later stages of the game the heroes will become much more useful to you than the henchmen will do. The basic order that you do the campaigns in, isn't really an issue.
 
Guys remember that there is a story with the game, telling them to move around continents all over the place might screw up the experience for them.
 
Yeah I'm just sticking to story as Davies says. Not bothered bout hurtling through with the best skills/chars. Want to see the whole story to get an idea of it for gw2.

1 question. If I stick primarily to the main storyline will I fall behind level wise or can I just focus on that and not really bother with side quests?
 
Good rule of thumb... look at the henchmen in the mission outposts. If you are about the same level, you should be ok. If you're a couple levels lower, you might want to consider doing some other quests. As GW's leveling curve isn't that steep, you should be ok with just the missions.

That being said, I do suggest that you do any quests you can that will give you skills. If you don't it'll cost you skill points and gold to unlock them in the future.

The whole grabbing the heroes thing, I did mention that you only had to START Nightfall/EotN. Once you get to LA, you do one quest, arrive in Nightfall, and then you get given 3 (level 15) heroes. And another 3 (level 20) heroes with EoTN. Once you have the heroes you then go back to doing the primary missions/quests in prophecies.

Seem to have ground to a halt.

The only mission I have active is to recover the Duke of Pilen Square blokes daughters ashes. Do I have to do this quest to advance (it's quite tough even at level 10 :o) as I cannot seem to find any quests elsewhere in and around Ascalon. Or can I go somewhere else to keep things ticking over?
 
You should have a primary quest in your log, you only really need to follow that. The order of the missions should be, Northern Wall, Fort Ranik, Ruins of Surmia, Nolani Academy. Press M in game and look @ the map, and see which missions you have completed.

I'm going to take a guess here, in that you've done Northern Wall, and Fort Ranik, when you complete Fort Ranik you should find yourself in Frontier Gate.

Warmaster Riga then has a quest that takes you to Ruins of Surmia. Once you complete Ruins of Surmia, you get transported to Nolani Academy. Complete Nolani, and you end up in Yak's Bend.

Look for those towns on the map and visit them until you can't goto the next one. Once you can't goto the next town (or pick up the quest), then it's likely you need to do that mission.
 
Hey No1newts, im on that quest right now, and i died trying to do it first time and gave up because i had to help me dad with some painting so didn't have time to retry it. If you wana team up and pwn it, just say the word. No worries if you have completed it already though.

Only problem is I play weird times with work.

I can get on tonight at 10 if you fancy that? If not tell me when you ca make it and I will try and get online at a similar time.

Aah!

I got the northern wall thing, was teleported to that beach place and there was no quest giver for the missions you mentioned. When I talked to someone he had an option to take part in them events I just didn't realise you had too with them not being flagged :p

This is probably why GW was the only RPG I have enjoyed so much since Baldur's Gate and Morrowind.

I love playing with a full AI team, even better now with heroes. It has nothing to do with playing with others, but I can simply customise and spec my whole party exactly how I want.

Needed the help for that mission, it was a right one, even with both of us plus 10 and 2 henchies we all died apart from you :p
 
Hey don't forget that imp you have! He saved us all, i ran off like a coward :p

There is no way that quest was possible with just henchman alone. Ill have to sort out unlocking heroes, henchman are starting to feel abit weak :(
 
Been a long time since I've done Althea's Ashes.. might do it again sometime just to see how bad it is.

No1newts, I did pm you ingame around 10pm.. you didn't reply.. wasn't sure if you saw the pm or not.

Ah sorry mate I must have missed it :(

I should be online again today at sone point so I'll keep an eye out!

The mission is easy until the last pull where whatever you do the whole platform of around 12+ enemies agro atone. They just zerg you down, would have been impossible with just henchies I was 10 ruf was 11 and we only just managed it.
