Guilty Confessions: What game did you not finish?

Oblivion Gates are awesome, though it does get a tad annoying when you've eventually gotten bored of them and are then forced to enter several of them for the primary. I remember running without looking back through most of them spamming an Invisibility spell :p

I really should go back on it... i was having some good fun with the Oblivion XP mod on top of FCOM so i had a ton of varied enemies to shoot for xp.

Half Life 1 - got to the final boss, and saved. Then my OS completely died, so had to do a complete reinstall. And never had the willpower to go all the way through the game again.............

He seems really hard at first but it isn't really. It's easier than you think. It's a long game to play again though.

HL2 EP2 - I got all the way to the finale, with the stalkers and the driving between bases and just thought CBA cya.......

I assume its the end ?

Almost.... But you need to see the cut scene that follows. For the stalkers, just ignore everything around you and throw the (can't remember name) device on their head and shoot it. Do some quick save/loading if it helps.

Pretty much all of mine are hype games before i know what games i liked and fell for the hype peer pressure :)

Half Life 1 & 2. People raved about them but i just never cared a jott about the characters or the story.

Farcry. Really, really boring

Ghost Recon. Again , really boring, and i never had any idea what was going on.

Dawn of War 2, got to the lasts boss level then lost my save :/ Cba to replay

Spellbound on the C64 was just solid. Also Chaos Strikes Back on the Amiga was the most confusing and hard game I've played in a good while. Still not completed it even now!

I never completed spellbound, it seemed so difficult at the time :S

Overlord: Basically up to the final bit of both the main game and the expansion, but had to reinstall my OS. Did back up my saves, but haven't got round to taking them for a spin again.

Painkiller: Got to the final "world" then encountered some gamebreaking bug, and haven't really tried it again since (that was in 2006).

Prince of Persia Warrior Within: really enjoyed SoT, quite liked WW too, but initially gamebreaking bug, then I reinstalled at another point, and I just haven't gotten round to getting further in.

Black and White: got up to the level where its constantly raining and fireballs are regularly being thrown at your town. Got annoyed, left it since then.

Currently also have madworld and no more heroes 2 on my wii to complete, and a desire to get to 242 stars in SMG2, but the latter of those is less important.

And that isn't even listing all the games that I played for a bit and got bored of, or haven't got round to playing at all yet.

Thief 3. Got quite far into this game a few times but always lost saves or they got corrupted or my PC/HDD broke. Still one of my fave games of all time though.

I loved that games as well I must have played it through about 8 times at least.

Sticking with Thief I never completed Thief 2. I got the game when it came out in 2000 or whenever it was and installed as soon as I got home a few days latter I got stuck on the mission where you have to listen in the Sheriff and some other guy talking at the hammer church, I got fed up and stopped playing it. It remained unplayed for 9 long years then last year my video card broke and I was using an old stinker to tide me over until the replacement came and in the mean time I played my older games and I took the opportunity to give Thief 2 another go, this time I played it through and won, it had taken me nine years but I had finally finished it! :D

Mass Effect 1 - Was overwhelmed by the this game at first and I didn't like the controls and found the shooting very inaccurate. I uninstalled it and wrote it off as a game of its generation and I wasn't apart it this new wave. Earlier this year I gave it another go and like Thief 2 I managed to see through my initial pessimism and completed it and I actually quite enjoyed it.

Total War - Never finished a full campaign game as I get board after a while. Mods are always good for this game.

GTA IV - I really can't get into this game which is a shame because I love previous instalments like Vice City. :(

Wing Commander 3 - First played this a few years after it had already been released, get stuck on the second to last mission and couldn't work out how to finish it despite reading all the guides I could find (internet weren't much cop in 1997). In fact it wasn't until 2008 that I screamed with rage and got the game working on my modern PC and over a few nights I worked out how to beat it. Time to complete - 11 years.

Yeah, I tried a few years back again, what a nasty, nasty, evil game :)

Ninja Gaiden 2, i got to the last boss, couldn't beat it and i've not touched it since.

It's a permanent blemish on my gaming pride :p which i'll get round to removing eventually.

Heh loads for me, I seem to buy more games than i can finish. I have loads I have not even really started like fallout 3. But the ones I have got far into then distracted by another game are quite a large amount. The one most notable being Mass Effect 2. I also keep looking at phsyonauts and torchlight in my steam folder begging to be be finished both with considerable time against them. I seem to get stuck into certain games, MW2 and Civ4 have been my biggest times draws and I have just added SC2 to the mix, can't see me completing another game for a while.

The Witcher. Everyone keeps going on about how good it is, and I did enjoy it from what I've played. However, I have yet to get to chapter 2 and feel very little desire to go back. It's almost unheard of for me to not finish an RPG. I've finished every Ultima from 4 onwards for instance! DOn't know what this says about the game.

You need a virtual slap in the chops for not finishing Physonauts! That has to be one of the most grossly under estimated games of all time! I played it for the first time 2 years ago and I hadn't had that much fun with a game since Monkey Island 2. At least play it through to the Godzillia level.

Looking over my shelf of shame...I have too many games I haven't finished. Even one that's been in it's wrapper for 3 years! I'm currently trying to finish off ME2, DA Origins, FFXIII, ACII, Warhammer 40k, BioShock 2, AvP and Bayonetta. :o

Although I do think The Witcher is a very good effort by the developer, I do think I will finish it eventually btw, it's just that it seems to be turning out to be a game that I chip in a few hours every other week when to begin with it sucked me in.

I guess I'm just an fps /fps+rpg player at the end of the day. Still got Mafia, Painkiller Universe, Baldur's Gate and KOTOR to finish. Something tells me it's gonna be tough. :D

Grindfest / Chinese torture...both are applicable.
