er must say not sure for RB1. It will for RB2. I wouldnt wanna say to you 100% that it does but i would have thought it would be backwards compatible

the 360 instruments work both ways for both games everybody seems to suggest (I like the look and layout of the GHWT drums better than RB2 so will probably get those and just the RB2 game) but it will depend on quality in the end..I may end up with GHWT guitar and rb2 drums..who knows till they are out and Ican have a proper look at them

Yeah my GH3 guitar didn't work with rock band until the patch came out to allow it so i was hoping the rest would work :)

I've had a look at a few e-shops now.

a lot of places are selling the Band Pack (drums mic guitar + bass (if preordered from some places) for the 14th of Nov 08
However the game (on its own) or guitar pack (guitar and game) is still set for 7th of Nov 08.

Just a bit of an update for those who cant be bothered to look for the info except on these fantastic forums ;)
If I have more supportive info i will let you know :D

do the world tour drums come with built in silencer things? rock band make a racket, but the set was borrowed so i couldnt do anything about it.

It didn't take us long to realize that we really like the feel of the new drum kit. It begins with the surface material. The drum heads and cymbals feel nice and quiet with the thick rubber and silicone coating, but there's still plenty of bounce-back. The cymbals don't seem to have quite as much give as we initially thought, but they don't exactly feel stiff, either. Moving between the two is easy thanks to the surface area of each drum head, which allows for a friendly margin of error. In addition, the kick pedal feels quite different from Rock Band's version. The pedal itself doesn't seem to require quite as much pressing, given that the default position of the pedal surface is a little closer to the base. This tends to make it a bit easier to do quick double taps, though without anything to attach the pedal to the base, we noticed it sliding a bit more than the Rock Band pedal.
