I know I was just adding my opinion
- Im basing my judgement on the fact that the rockband 2 guitar LOOKS like the rb1 guitar (which was crap) so then common sense makes me think that the rb2 guitar will be just as crap as it was last time.
err lol? because it looks the same, its crap? i guess people who buy higher spec version of the same model cars are in for a big shock! theres no reason why they have to have a new shape guitar, hell if the factory mouldings for the RB1 strat fit the RB2 strat, why waste money to change when its the innards that count?
i've played GHWT a bit and not impressed with the looseness of the timing window, it may be alright for guitar if thats what you're used to, but the window is so weird when on drums.
i feel that it will be good for parties as the large timing window will be a godsend after a few drinks and as the night goes on but i sat there drumming thinking it doesnt feel right when im able to hit notes with weird timing and have the game still register.
and dont get me started on things like the purple bass line on drums (i suppose they could've made it transparent if they wanted it even more harder to see), the fretboard shaking when missing a note (yeah that helps me try to keep my rhythm when i miss a note!).
i played willie nelson - on the road again on expert drums, and 90% of that song is a roll on the red pad iirc (for the RB drums at least) and okay i didnt 5* or GS it, but it was the first song i played and without concentrating properly i could get decent rolls going without any hassle or breaking streak (and oh yeah, the multiplier? nicely hidden away which is annoying as in RB i use that as a gauge as to whether i've nailed a certain section or missed stuff).
now i'm not sure if orange crush is the same speed notes (8ths?) as on the road again, but ive only ever passed it 4-5 times on expert (most points i have is just over 104k) after lots and lots of practice due to sucking at single pad rolls.
open notes are a nice addition to the bass part of the game though.
