I'm sorry if I'm expressing my opinion but I'm trying to fly swat away all the people coming into this thread and just slating the game or the ones that come in simply to say why rockband is better - psychomonkey is a great example, no input what so ever about GH.

And Im sorry but I just read all of your posts Simo - not one of them is praising GH in any way so what are you talking about simo? Always having a dig at GH? Seems to be the case mate

&@ Danny - the GH missing notes sound is a lot less annoying than rockbands

Also I'm only having a dig at GH3 as Rock Band is superior. Tighter more challenging timing window, more fun songs to play, better animation.

What input about GH games do you want? The poor support for DLC, the quite frankly absurd difficulty curve, the stupid boss battles or the poor charting of a lot of songs?

GH2 shines head and shoulders above GH3 for a reason...
 
I've had much enjoyment outta all the GH games and indeed RB.

I dont have a favourite i own em all i enjoy em all. Why the hell restrict yourself to just one side of the other ?!?! :confused:

You're like an apple fanboy trying to convince me to buy one of their overhyped pathetic products :(

The timing window is forgotten about as GH is actually harder so you're getting nothing from me there, I prefer GH as its most fun to play especially timing window wise (its also been tightened up in world tour by the way)

What do you mean by more fun songs to play? None of the songs on GH3 are boring or "not fun" in my opinion, and better animation - what now? GH3 is older than rockband, and saying that the animations on rockband are horrible - the grainy effect on everything and the low low framerate on the things going on in the background!

I'll give it poor support for DLC but Id say the games are in a different league - most of the DLC released is for the hardcore players of the game that enjoy a challenge may it be getting achievements from DLC songs or passing them on expert - the aim of rockband DLC is totally different, I for one like the challenge and working towards something.

The difficulty curve isnt insane, have you even played it on all difficulties dude? Cos last time I checked you had finished it on medium - you're opinion really cant be justified till you've actually played the game past hard mode - its a totally different experience. GH3 was my first guitar game and I only have one more song to pass on expert now.

& I like GH2 - I'm currently playing through it right now, Id say the learning curve is a lot harder on GH2 (in the expert difficulty anyway, I don't know what you play on)

EDIT: I just noticed you've done expert on RB but no further than medium on GH - a bit biased matey

Apologies for the way my post sounded originally. Just read it over and I sound like a **** so as I say apologies. Had a crap 5 mins at work before posting that. :)

I was and still am a little mystified by your post about RB sound system being crap.

I agree with Psymonkees thoughts on GH2 and 3 though.

I am not trying to make you buy an overhyped pathetic product. Nor do i appreciate being labelled as being as bad as an Apple fanboy.

I really don't understand you comment about the timing window. Also the window may have been tightened up in WT but believe me when I say it's still not right.

That came out in a very off tone - not that I don't expect it from these forums these days.

GH3 and RB1 MUST be compared together as they are competing products. It doesn't matter if GH3 came out first. Rock Band was launched in the US at a similar time.

Play GH3 and watch the drummer. Play RB and watch the drummer. OH NOES! A grain effect the animation is ruined!? Not seeing that one. Watch the guitarist during soft intro's and watch the bassist when they get a solo riff - STUNNING is how I would describe that. Watch the strings actually move/vibrate.

Framerate is very subjective and people will **** into the wind about it. It genuinely doesn't bother me and I can't say I even notice it. End of.

I play Expert on GH. I simply cannot finish the game due to the ridiculously stupid and boringly unfair Boss Battles. Why are they even there? I've worked like hell to get through some of these songs why should I have to beat an impossible AI?

Not biased at all - I have genuinely put a lot of time into all the titles up for discussion here.

Yes, the RB DLC is mostly aimed at casual players, but when Megadeath, Dream Theater, All That Remains and Metallica are thrown in, it makes for a fair bit of a challenge.

GH2 is a pretty standtard difficulty curve, with the odd tricky song thrown in such as Carry on Wayward Son, which is damn difficult at first.

Also, i'm not an RB fanboy, nor do I hate GH, I just don't get why you can't simply own both =/

I do own both :) I just prefer one, but some people seem to have a problem with that and are trying to convince me otherwise

&@ Psy - Fair enough, I'm only trying to express my views - I cant help but feel this thread is being trolled upon by rockband fanboys that's all. What I was saying about the hit window was that I think the fact that guitar hero is generally harder helps to compensate for fact that the window is larger, thus if it were smaller - the game would be so much harder!

How come you haven't finished the game on hard if you're playing on expert?

God yeah! I'm a hard GH player and the step up from tier 6 to 7 on hard is freakin so hard it makes you quit.

I'm hoping for a much more gradual curve this time.

I relise that GH:WT isnt out yet but the thread was meant to be about the game not if its, better, worse or same as RB2 which again isnt out.

Also all the GH V RB please leave it to another thread :)

I think as stated before just own both !
You are ensuring then that you get the best of both worlds :D

I personally cant wait for GH:WT i always get hyped over a new guitar strumming madness game :) and RB2 to follow shortly hopefully.
