Guitar Hero

I saw someone playing this in Virgin at the weekend and it was the thing that finally made me give in and buy a PS2.

Mere words cannot describe the awesomeness that this game possesses.

me = jealous lol

hes insane at it, but hes been playing guitar for years so thats my excuse :P

im happy with struggling slowly through hard, no one knows is just insanely hard for me
 
I actually went into my local game shop and was gonna buy a ps2 for this game but I could not make up my mind, until the guy asked if i wanted to have a go ............... 5 mins later I walked out of the shop carrying ps2 + guitar hero's and an extra joypad for £124 !!! this game is so much fun and it actually feels like you are playing. go go go buy it, we want the sequal to be released here.
 
How hard is this game?

Ive had guitar freaks for ages now and have mastered everything on it.
Is it worth buying this or is it going to be a walk in the park like when the released dance euromix :(
 
From my understanding Guitar Freaks only has three buttons on the neck, correct?

Guitar Hero has five. Meaning you have to move your hand about to play the more difficult songs, which adds a layer of difficulty in itself. I don't know how hard 'Freaks is on the actual songs, but I'd be suprised if it was as complex as the hardest 'Hero tracks are, especially the more insane solos.
 
Just got in with this game. The missus was playin it in gamestation while I was lookin at PSP stuff and she tempted me to have a go and I loved it. Figured it would be better with sound and bought it.

Is this likley to go the way of singstar and have more songs come out for it?

I thought that there were already extra song genres for it, blues etc?

Is singstar good? I keep almost buying it.
 
i LOVE this game. HAd a party and a guy brought it round, normal ps2 controllers, but my god with a few drinks it makes for some fun :D

I got to grips with it pretty quick, getting about 90% on normal, and about 70-90 on hard. Expert is just taking the P to be fair :P

I seriously cant wait for number 2. I might even buy it o:
 
We've been to the pub and come home to some guitar hero shennanigans. Great fun once again. So that got me looking for a second controller however instead I came across Guitar Freaks vs Drummania.

Apparently you can hook up 2 guitars and a drum machine and have a 3 player game. Looks top fun although I can't find any UK stockists.

Anyone played drummania / guitar freaks?

Incidentally Guitar Hero 2 is due November it seems and I never did hear back from Red Octane about the limited edition cherry red controller......
 
i been reading up on guitar hero 2 and it looks great, the co op mode looks class :D. there vids of it up at ign
 
BTW VIRII, Singstar is very good i have them all, you may have it already though, i think a couple of drinks and singstar is the best combination ever!

Also i got guitar hero and love it, i seem to be the only one good at it in my household though which is a shame!

Not a fan of singstar. All too easy for someone to cheat and hum the tune. Also there is no room for improv, just flat tones throughout. I like a game with a bit of accuracy.

Nearly finished expert on Guitar Hero tho. Bring on number 2!
 
Just finished the songs on easy, done them all first time, though i don't think the next level gonna be as easy somehow

Totally class game this is ;)

I only have bark at the moon left on hard, ridiculously hard, and im also stuck on crossroads on expert (done all the others in that little section).

It's annoying cos i know i can do Frankenstein on expert.


Who wants to find my house and teach me the moves of awesomeness? :p

Actually mate you need to come round mine and teach me your moves. I love GH but I can't do anything on expert at all.
 
Really? I find the early expert tracks easier than the last half of hard, and easier even than bark at the moon on medium.

The trick is knowing the songs and the guitar rythms so that when you play you only have to worry about which buttons, not what timing.

I just got this 2 days ago, and what a fantastic game it is. I've never played anything like this (other than Parappa the rapper), everyone I know is thinking about getting a ps2 now..

So, I completed easy fairly easily, and now medium seems not too bad at first but towards the end (no one knows, etc) it's rock hard, how long did it take for you guys to progress to hard?

Thinking about getting on of these badboys for 2 player too...

PS2 Shredder Guitar

but it seems to have some mixed reviews.
