Gulp...

I havent left it on 100% manual fan control.
I did knock it back down to automatic! :D

Thouroughly impressed with it still!

Oh, and Im happy to report that my 480w PSU seems so far to run this with no problems :)

Higher fps = smoother performance. Smoother performance = a joy to look at.
A joy to look at = playing game more. Playing game more = completion faster.

Interesting logic! But surely better graphics, more looking around aimlessly and not doing the missions also? ;)

True but I think the person who quoted me before forgot it was just a joke, kindly provided relevant criticism and added a lot of value to the thread. Oh wait...

@topic: Has the missus found out yet?

Hm, All this under the radar stuff got me thinking - maybe if OCers offered a free bunch of flowers or chocs for the ladies we might be able to buy overtly instead of covertly. If you're single, just enjoy the sugar rush.

Might be less successful if your other half is a bloke though . . .

Nope, the missus will not notice.... for a while at least. I hope by then I will have paid the years council tax as a rebate on the guild I might get dished out to me ;)

Ffallic - I have no kids. (Thank Christ!) 2 cats, but they already have a months worth of food bought for them. Oh, and a vegetarian girlfriend too!
....

You already know the answer you seek. Feed your vege gf to your cats, she's lower in the food chain. Then, go buy a good gfx card. And perhaps a pot noodle.

+1
Payment can be hard, credit cards are no good for "under the radar" transactions. I work about 20 mins from OCUK so a quick trip up the M6 and cold hard cash is exchanged for hardware, a late night "stealth install" happens and magically performance improves. Sad but easier than hours of justification!

hehe the olde stealth install...never fails

Well, the fact we have been without a boiler (no hot water on tap or radiator) for over a year means I require a little more justification! ;)

Its remarkably easy to get along without to be honest. I shower at work, the missus nips over to her sisters house, and we have a coal fire to keep us warm. Hot water bottles and snuggling also works well too!

haha just read this........you git buy a ******ng boiler :)

Hmm..
either £175..
or £1000 (I reckon)..

Seeing as the weather is warming up and we have a plentiful supply of wooly jumpers, hotwater bottles and cuddles, I think the case is won already ;)

Jokes aside, you should have a plan to get the hot water going that she knows about. Psychologically, women tend to need that comfort of being looked after. Let not a faulty boiler be the thin end of the break up wedge.

Sure, some graphics cards run hot, and the combined heat generated from all your components might suitably keep your main room at a comfortable temperature. But a good game cannot compare to cuddle in a warm shower.

Among the many games and watermarks the lovely creatures have is to determine if you are a loser or a lion. Be the lion my friend.

Lets get this in perspective ... £175 ... I remember when a 486dx33 on a mb + 1MB RAM cost me ~£350 and I then bought 4x4MB 2nd hand DIMMs for £320 (and that was a good deal at the time!). Most HW today is pretty cheap in comparison with 10-15 years ago!
