H1Z1 - Zombie apocalypse sandbox from SOE

Saw people on Reddit speculating release of early access today due to this video at the 46:25 mark. Notice what day "four weeks from today" lands on.

I don't believe it myself, I'm sure it will just be more announcement nonsense. Or possibly another weird sand picture thing a'la EverQuest Next reveal.

Just put the damn thing on steam already.

just base building m8 :)

Was it decently implemented? Or can you carry an entire house in your backpack, whilst wielding a axe? Like you can in most games.
Its the detail needed to make a decent survival game, dragging parts to the construction site etc. although obviously needs concessions to still be fun and not just a real life simulator.

First it was 'you can stick your game up your kazoos'....

FAQ - Will you be able to play H1Z1 in Europe?
Right now we are focusing on launching H1Z1 on Steam Early Access in North America. We have plans to expand access in the future.

and then it was massive backpaddling and regenerated love.

Twitter - John Smedley ‏@j_smedley H1z1 will be available in North America and Europe at the same time when we launch early access

Well that was a pretty unimpressive showing. The animations are awful.

...

1. It's in Alpha
2. Gameplay should be the main thing you look at when buying a game, not animations
3. Visuals look great
4. It's in Alpha!!!

Look at DayZ, full of bugs, bad animations and being developed at a snails pace... still sold 2 million copies and continue to sell copies still! The community are what make DayZ great. The visuals are stunning and the longevity of the game is huge (even though there isn't a point scoring system or objectives to complete).

1) Plenty of other games are in alpha and stick out far better showings.
2) I saw nothing on the gameplay front that convinced me I hadn't played this game before.
3) No better than DayZ to me.
4) Well then they should be more careful what they show because they should know people will get an impression from what they present.

And before going all this alpha blah blah you should maybe look back in this thread and say I've been one of the most vocal people saying to give it a chance. We were to have been offered alpha within 4 weeks how many weeks ago. All I am seeing atm is DayZ with fire and how the hell that is a place for SWG vets to return to is absolutely beyond me. This is just jumping on the bandwagon.

looks great, and will be better then dayZ imo. will be larger as well when they start adding more land. starting out on a 64sqr kilometer map.

the Forgelight engine is powerful so it has lots of potential. crafting and base building looks great, stuff will get better. SOE are good as a company and they are running Landmark Alpha and beta well.
