H1Z1 - Zombie apocalypse sandbox from SOE

DG stop talking **** it was on London server and chronic is venox...

Chronic only plays h1z1 with me, moose and juicy and the 2 in video are not his friends.

It's really not hard to record stuff nowadays with shadow play u ****.

Yeah most people tend to record everytime they play online these days with storage being so cheap.

not set up

just like frankie jack frags all of em. 99.9 percent of videos are staged.play with friends, make out enemy. good video though :p

Still hating on Frankie and Jack I see... Is it because Dean showed them more love than you ?

I think its pretty obvious Frankies videos are created using a bit of acting and setups. amongst his genuine meets with strangers. But man does he put a good video together that as editing of a a very high standard and video production that puts his videos a cut above most other youtubers.

Right ive just started with H1Z1 and must say im enjoying it for the amount spent, i know it will be F2P but who doesnt like a good zombie survival game. Anyways ive spent around 3 hours so far, and died close to 50 times due to lack of food or water and the odd zombie attack, cannot find anything in houses, cars, bins, cabinets or anything you can search, onlt time i found anything was a crowbar, find the odd water bottle and wells, and i know berrys you can eat but loot or anything useful is no where to be found. Are some servers just empty? im playing on Sheffield (no idea why just close to where i live lol)

Yup found this on the London server too, no loot whatsoever, loads of people wandering around in starter gear.

I think the loots a bit borked.

Its not like DayZ loot is hard to find and crafting vital

Get your empty bottles and fill em up in lakes and clean by putting on fire or crafting blackberry juice.

Create rabbit traps and cook your meat doesn't take long to have a good stock of food and water.

1 cooked rabbit =50%
1 bottle Blackberry juice =50%

Until container loot respawn is fixed you cannot start crafting except for basic items.

Problem is that there is a lot of disparity and misinformation floating around the web regarding the spawn system.

From a dev post I was reading through yesterday (or the day before possibly) the loot recycling / spawn scripts do work. The problem lies between the checks that the spawn scripts undertake and the server scripts that handle player positioning which is linked to the server FPS.

The way it is designed to work is that at any given time, X location has Y% chance to spawn loot from the loot table applicable to that location. If X has a free loot position the server will attempt to spawn loot there (I believe it is currently at a 5 minute interval to perform the check). Remember that this is only a % chance, not guaranteed. The server will only try to spawn loot at that spot if a player is not within a certain radius of that location (this varies from 60 - 135m depending on the loot type), or has not been within a certain amount of time. If the server FPS is struggling (which you have no indication of) I firmly believe that it simply slows down this time ridiculously - similarly to how ArmA used to handle time passing.

The server I'm on is generally a low-pop server, but you'll still struggle to find loot at certain hotspots like the Police Department in Pleasant Valley simply because it has a lot of player traffic going through it and checking it constantly, not allowing it to respawn. However, go somewhere off the beaten track and you should find loot much easier. Also remember that spawn locations are also spread around the map a lot, so a simple player respawn in that area may reset the check timer.

It still has some work to do, but on servers that aren't struggling with performance (read as low population) it does function as intended; it just needs tweaking and fine tuning. :)

Playing on Walking Corpse and have a awesome base with some friends
Finding plenty of loot but not to much, now to roam and help people!

Yeah the loot does not respawn because the servers have to many players. High/Med/Low pop is also broken, if you try to join Med servers sometimes you get stuck in a queue so I don't think it counts the population right atm. People are going to all the loot spots and restarting the loot timer. It won't be a problem when the map gets bigger. That being said you can survive really easy if you hunt animals and kill other players.
