HAF932 build log and custom filters

Hi Razor,

good bit of reading and was going to try the front and side panel intakes using adhesive tape rather than glue but anyway my question was how did you come to £10.99 for the medium fine or ultra fine for that matter as i couldnt find/see that price listed on that auction site for 'Stainless Steel Woven Wire Fat Quarter- Medium Fine' mind you nothing came up for that i had to shorten it to 'Stainless Steel Woven Wire Medium Fine'

that is if this is the right shop on that web site:)

prices i found are £6.99 for A4 And £33 for 1m x 1.2m inc del.

is this correct ? or should i look again :D

kind Regards

just looked myself and looks like they have stopped selling it in that item now?? it's the right stuff and the right shop:confused: my guess is the "Fat Quarter" was made up of off cuts or something, the ultra fine stuff was sent in a padded envelope and there were some strange sized bits but the medium was sent out on a roll like the description says now

try dropping them an e-mail like "steve in spain" did above send them your requirements and i'm sure they will get back to you with a price m8 :D

thanks m8 ;)

how much size wise do you reckon? 1 x A4 & 1 X A3?

Im doing the side panel where the fan goes and the front intake on my haf 932?

This is 2 days worth of dust you say?!

That is a lot of dust mate, I take it you have got kids and pets right?

I like this fan filter idea though, I have thought about doing something like this to my intake fans, as I seem to get quite a lot of dust inside my rig, and my missus is constantly cleaning and dusting the house.

It has probably been asked already in this thread, but I am busy right now, and don't have the time to read through the whole thread, but I wanted to know where you purchased this mesh screens from?

right the shop owner:) got back to me tonight and if anyone interested his quote was 2x sheets of fine-medium mesh sized at 500x700mm for £14.99 inc del.

just thought if anyone needed some some sort of price guide :)

as he doesnt list on main shop front yo will have to pm him and enquire....

thanks again to razer1978 for finding and sharing this great find/stuff.

regards

I've just looked a a certain site and the prices for "Stainless Steel Woven Wire Fat Quarter- Medium Fine" are now £10.99
Am I in the wrong shop do you think?

Hi Razer,

did you manage to spray the mesh to a standard you are happy with? I'm going to get a few sheets but I'm not to keen on the shiny appearance of it through the case.

sorry for the late reply, it's been mental this week, yes i am happy with the painted mesh i used plasti kote super gloss black and it has turned out really good and very durable :) much better than the std finish the mesh comes in, just remember to hang the mesh so the part your spraying has air behind it

I got some filters from the US DEMCiflex Magnetic Fan Dust Filter - Custom 2 Piece Set for CM HAF932 worked out about £30 odd you get the front and side panel filters.

I was to lazy to do this mod, great idea btw :)

Well the postman's been and gone and still no glue gun :( so I have decided to order some different mesh, I've gone for a medium version of the mesh as after reading your post got me thinking, I had made a large filter using the ultra fine mesh and worked very well but didn't get round to testing it on a smaller scale and after doing so found it made a +3'c difference to my cpu temp when i fitted it to my cpu cooler so using it on an even smaller scale like the drive bay filters would raise temps and reduce air flow too much :(, anyway i ordered the medium mesh this morning and opted for first class delivery so hopefully it will turn up with the glue gun tomorrow

about making it black i have an idea about that as well, i used to make and paint (badly :) ) warhammer 40,000 figures and i remembered they do an ink for shading ect so I'm going to get some and try, i will let you know who i get on, i'll be getting black and red to see what looks best:cool:

i'll keep you updated with the results

a bit confused are you still using the Ultra Fine Stainless Steel Woven Wire Mesh Fat Quarter - or did you change it for a medium, if so same place???:(

Very nice work, I'm thinking about getting a 922, only thing that concerned me was the lack of dust filters, so I might just pick some of this stuff up :D

Make sure you get some of that filter stuff because i ended up with a carpet at the bottom of my 922 after a few months so then i changed the case recently.

i started with the ultra fine but is was way too restrictive so switched to the medium fine and it worked like a charm :)

looks great! gives me ideas
many thanks, i would be interested in what you come up with
