Halal only outlets

What if I don't want to eat Halal burgers? Given that in France there aren't fast food burger joints every 10 yards like there is in say, California.

Don't eat there? Much like if you don't like the way burgers taste in McDonalds, or how KFC treat their chickens or any number of reasons you don't eat in a particular establishment. If it impacts trade enough to hurt the business they will change it back or offer more choice.

If I couldn't taste the difference then I probably wouldn't care. If I could, I'd just go somewhere else.

You're an idiot then because there's no difference.

When my local KFC changed to Halal, the quality of the meat remained the same.

As meglatronic said, the animal is slaughtered in a different way, some people don't agree with it, and it puts them at exactly the same situation as with muslims and non-halal eaterys. But the only thing to do in that case is to go elsewhere for your food in both cases.

there is a difference.

Halal meat is inhumane and so i choose not to eat it

Fair enough. But in the case of KFC, are you aware that

8. Is KFC's halal chicken stunned before slaughter?

Yes, due to our strict animal welfare standards, we insist that all our poultry is stunned before slaughter. Our halal chicken has been accredited by the Halal Food Authority, one of the most widely recognised bodies in the UK and overseas. It allows the use of a technique called 'stun-to-stun' - a pain free process that makes the animal insensible to pain and suffering. A verse is also recited from the Koran at the point of slaughter by an appropriate person and the poultry will not come into contact with non-halal meat at any point in the supply chain.
The HFA accreditation which is clearly signposted in the participating restaurants allows us to offer halal accredited meat whilst remaining committed to the same animal welfare standards as before, which meet or exceed all relevant UK and EU legislation.

He isn't an idiot. Some people (myself included) disagree with the way halal meat is slaughtered and so won't support businesses that get their supplies in that manner.

I presume those who are happy with this situation would be equally happy if all fast food outlets in London stopped selling cheeseburgers to keep the Jewish population happy? Cheeseburgers not being kosher because they mix milk (cheese) with meat. Therefore denying everyone else the chance to enjoy a delicious cheeseburger.

I hope people realise that 'halal' meat is simply meat from an animal that has had it's throat cut and then bled to death. Stunned or not, it is not humane. Why a religion would demand this, is beyond ridiculous.

One outlet =! all. Also I can assure you that if indeed what you said is true, there are jewish food outlets not selling cheese already.

Other than one home made I have yet to come across a cheeseburger that could be described as delicious...

It's a business decision, if you don't agree, take your custom elsewhere. If there is nowhere else to take it, then make other arrangements. If they lose a lot of money because of their decision they will be quite quick to change it back.

I think the question here is choice, like people said, we have all eaten halal meat. But it would be nice to have a choice. Let people choose what meat they want. Why should one type of meat (pork) be banned beacuse some people's religion forbids them to eat it. What this resturant should do is give people a choice. Have both poducts availiable.

Wow the anti muslim brigade are just out of control lol.

whats next, wait ive got it,

"these muslims are washing 5 times a day which is not helping the water shortages during the summer heat wave. If we have to put up with a hose ban why should these muslims be allowed to use OUR BRITISH water during this heat wave. Gordans lost all control thats why im voting BNP"

A burger is a burger for gods sake, who cares if it was electrocuted, shot or had its throat cut.

Muslims care.

Oh and I do, I'd prefer if the animals were killed humanely. That doesn't mean I'm against the idea though but why couldn't it have been given as an option instead?
