Halal only outlets

If a butcher does prepare all the meat in the same area behind closed doors, and sells it a halal on the counter, what implications would he get if caught ?

they also lose their license to sell halal meat (permanently i believe)

As for the 'oh noes its cruel' brigade, you KNOW which way the meat has been killed based on the certification of the butcher/food outlet

If you cared that much you would go find out which ones kill it the old way and which ones stun them first

Nah, there are plenty of much more valid criticisms of Islam than Halal (The recent Islam Channel complaints would be a good start) . I just don't see the need for religious exemptions when the religion itself doesn't really see the need for it either.

Your problem is cheap meat, not halal or haraam. Especially as it seems for most halal meat there is actually no difference, unless you honestly believe saying a prayer changes the taste...

Alternatively it does not compute with your sensibilities and so you reacted because of that instead. What with muslims not being biologically different.

LOL just lol...cheap meat??..dont think theres such a thing as cheap meat...you seen the price of meat lately??...i mean god almighty i just spent over £200 on halaal meat last weekend that will probably last me for about 3 weeks...and i find theres a difference between halaal and haraami meat...i dont expect you to agree with that but that doesnt bother me in the slightest.

Eating bacon has nothing to do with my religions forbiddance of it...i tried it because all ive ever heard is how delicious it is so wanted to see what the fuss was all about...and it didnt agree with my stomach...tbh i dont see whats so delicious about a filthy animal that loves to laze around in its own faeces and if starved long enough will eat meat.

Oh just to point for out for the ignorants amongst us...we muslims are allowed to eat pork if there is NO other meat around and we are hungry but we are not to gorge on it...only to eat enough to sate our hunger. But that scenario wouldnt happen so its a bit of a moot point but thought id point it out.

But as has been said in this thread, there is actually little difference between halal slaughter and normal slaughter in most cases. Or do you only buy the halal meat that hasn't been stunned first? If that is the case you are basically saying that halal meat tastes better because someone said a prayer during the process. Forgive me if I find that difficult to believe...

Not to mention Mohammed said you shouldn't so you have to come up with some reason to justify not being able to eat something god created yet told you not to eat. Because not eating pork really makes sense...

Except of course you are ignoring the fact that some of the halal meat is not slaughted according to the normal rules and the animal is not stunned first. Because you have no way of knowing which halal has been humanely slaughted and which hasn't, if you care about that sort of thing then you would have to avoid halal entirely. Why would that make you a hypocrite?

Because if you cared enough, you'd have to look in to how the animals are killed and make sure you knew, otherwise you've got no point in complaining about how it was slaughtered.

Plus, generally speaking, the act of killing an animal is hardly humane, I think people are just jumping on this to have a good old moan about the latest fad.

I would be quite happy with "Well God told me not to eat it" and leave it at that, personal beliefs are fine by me. However the excuses some people try to make as to why pork is bad compared to other animals is quite sad.
