Half Tonne Man

Wait a second, didn't he weight himself when he was like 70 stone? And ask "Thats pretty big isn't it?"

He probably uses the ordinary excuses aswell;

" Oh, well I like my sweets.. "

" ******* 3-piece suites by the look of it mate "

thanks ricky :p

It's very hard to understand that these people are addicted to food, the same way some people keep on smoking after their leg is amputated.

What annoys me is the excuses a lot of people give for being overweight like having a slow metabolism etc... while they know too well that they should not go to Burger King and that they need more exercise.

Why doesn't the 85 stone guy get stomach surgery that makes his stomach smaller?

The Doc said the chemical imbalance was the hormone that said to the brain "I am no longer hungry". Basically they just don't know when to stop eating

Is this not Prada-Willi Syndrome?

Saw a documentary on it a while ago.

I liked the woman on that program who recounted how she used to get extra food from her husband. When he gave her a meal (in bed as she couldn't get out of it), she would hide the chops / burgers etc. and shout that the dog had eaten them. She squirreled the extra food he gave her away in a fluffy animal to eat later.

That is so sad. Poor blameless mutt.

I bet that dog starved because they thought it had aten her food, so they never gave it any of the dog food.

Poor little doggy, silly fat cow.

Whilst I tend to fall down on the side of, "stop eating you fat *******", I do know that there is a disease or genetic condition where a person's brain does not register when the stmach is full and they have an overwhelming urge to eat. There is no cure and it is very difficult to control, sufferers usually end up dying young from morbid obesity. Quite sad really. :(

However, unless afflicted by some sort of physical disorder, there are no excuses.

Probably not possible. Operations are more and more dangerous the fatter you are. Imagine having to stitch up a belly which is like, a foot thick.

He did, his stomach was reduced to the size of a thumb, it looked like it helped. He lost a lot of weight.

hey- they guy has a problem, which isnt helped by people like you and your instant, no-thought, "ha ha- look a fatty" attitude.

he is a human being with an obvious medical problem- a disablility if you will. An eating disorder isnt exactly funny.

you wouldnt go "ha ha- look- multiple sclerosis", would you?

just because he doesnt conform to your body image ideal does not make him a bad person, and does not give you the right to ridicule them.

now dont get me wrong- im a 29 stone fat bugger myself (6 foot 2 so i can carry it with little problem), and i have no problem with people taking the mick out of me because i definitely am a lazy fat git (though i do go to the gym now, and used to be just over 30 stone).

I just have a problem with people mocking someone with a disability. so come on folks- have a little tolerance, eh?

Ah okay, I did not see the documentary :)

I think the issue of having his stomach size reduced showed that in some cases the chemical imbalance theory is true. Stomach can hold a round of toast. Head says eat 4 rounds of toast. Guy then throws up.

Was he limited to a diet of finger rolls?

Sorry. I'll get me coat. :o

Not when i see what he was eating, i have not tolerance for him at all. (Not that i would go shout in the street "hey fatty" or something along those lines) Stuffing your face with food is not a disability. He may have the condition, but it's his own fault for allowing himself to eat so unhealthily.
One of the fat guys on the documentry actually compared himself and his habit with a drug addict.
I see it more as an addiction than a disability 85% of the time in morbidly obese people.

yes there are- i used to eat a lot because i was depressed, and i got fat, which made me more depressed, so i ate more.

then i got over being depressed and have been a fat lazy goit since.

:D

yes- most fat people are fat because of their diets and lack of exercise, but there is often an underlying psychological reason.

what makes it worse is idiots that shout out of car windows, or make comments in the street, especially if you are a kid. it really has a profound effect on the child that never heals.

frankly, most peoples attitude to overweight people is shocking- discrimination pure and simple, all because you dont like the way they look.

who gave you the right to judge?

an addiction IS a disability. i feel sorry for them personally, and i wish they got the same kind of support as smackheads, rather than the ridicule, abuse and prejudice that they get.

I know it well :( , if i've put on weight, i'll feel down/depressed, and 'comfort eat' its the osterich mentality, but its so hard to break :(

/\ was referring to the bit where you said that you consider it an addiction.

i agree- it IS an addiction in many cases. however, an addition is a kind of disability...

and LOL at the pic...

No, an addiction is not a disability. Certianly it should not be compared to something like Dislexia, downs, autisim, Things that the sufferer can not have any chance to control.
