Just 30 hours after his 300mph crash, the Top Gear presenter spoke to his colleague Jeremy Clarkson

THE moment that Richard Hammond opened his eyes, spoke and took the first steps since his 300mph car crash was described by his Top Gear co-presenter Jeremy Clarkson last night.

“In the wee small hours [late on Thursday night] Richard Hammond suddenly sat up in bed, opened his eyes and asked what had happened,” Clarkson said. He had replied: “You’ve been in a car accident.” Hammond asked whether he had been driving stupidly “before getting out of bed and walking, shakily, to the lavatory”, Clarkson writes

The Times on Sunday.

No, because I don't have an 88MPH capable Delorean with added flux capacitor.

Oh yeah, forgot its saturday today, for some reason though it was sunday. I need to stop working so much.

God help me!!! I nearly lost a day

Cant believe I wrote that :(

Good news - Hammy has taken his 1st steps since the accident and called James May a ***kface :D

Bad news - the new series of 'The best of top gear', has been indefinitely posponed - was due to start on 1st October :(

The 'new series' 'Best of Top Gear' hasn't been cancelled - the final episode of the 'Best of Top Gear' which has now been running for 2 or 3 weeks has been postponed indefinitely. Also, the BBC are now debating whether to air the new series of Top Gear which was due to start one week after this - i.e. October the 1st.

I have just read Clarksons column on The Sun website. I don't normally go to that site, but thats got to be one of the best peices of writing I have ever read.

Please, go and find it, and read it.
