the engine i have is a version3/ph3 from the almera gti. its a RR version

low on compression could be a reason why its lower on power

im not asking for you all to be WOW look at this its stunning, i want one

its my project/toy that im faffing about with, so what if its a low powered 2 litre engine, its still more than the 1.4 that was originally in it, it was only putting out 84bhp

the car as it is still turns heads and people dont know what it can do, im not saying itll beat scooby's off the line or give them a run for their money, not even close, its a scrap looking car with a bit of go behind it. which is what a rat rod is btw.

other day some plonker in a 1.6 flipped painted astra, alloys way way too big and looked like he drove it through halfords thought he have a crack at me off the lights, needless to say i left him sitting, then he really bigged himself up by doing a burnout infront of me while people just laughed at him as i wiped the floor with him in a crappy looking almera

I'm of the opinion that 140bhp from a 2.0L N/A engine is pathetic, yes. Even more so when someone CHOSE that engine to drop into their car. Why go to the bother for something as uninspiring as that? I'm guessing you have a similar engine in whatever you drive, given your immediate defence mode reply :cool:

i got the engine and doner gti for £100, couldnt really refuse it. sticking in another engine would have been too much work, engine mounts etc, so why not just stick something in it that will drop right in? albeit its a low powered 2 litre engine so what.... it was cheap and is still more powerful than the 1.4 that was initially in it

i like the looks that i get, when people look at it as if to say... wtf is that, i just look at them and smile, they usually smile and laugh... really dosnt bother me in the slightest that they are thinking, god that looks %^*(

i chose not to buy a new car... is it the end of the world?

i never said i was racing around town, all i said was i got him off the lights... are you implying that youve never done the above?

the car was cheap

the engine was cheap, so what its a mid 90's low powered 2 litre

the end result is what i make it

if youve nothing left to say then just leave please as you appear to be fighting a losing battle here by implying that im wasting my time, money and effort, whaty i do is my choice, you clearly wouldnt do what i have done, doesnt make it pointless.... im mine and some people's eyes

it stands me at 3k cos thats what i put into it, the initial car was cheap
