:p

Stick on a rusty bonnet and some black steelies, and you've got a rat rod right there! ;)

I'm ashamed to say I've gone and put a rusty bonnet on my 205, I had a spare red one from a C plate, so I nitromors'ed it and left it to rust! :D I've still got the original grey one tho, it's on the garage roof and it stops water leaking into the garage, but I can always switch back if I want.

He doesn't have multi spokes (maybe in black) on it does he? A guy that worked next to me had a red one, was quite nice.

he did

not sure what he is doing with himself, aint posted in a while

I'm itching to comment but I want to make sure I have all the facts first.

This car is what, 140bhp yes with its 2 litre NASP engine? So about the same performance as a stock Almera GTi?

Correct, I have been waiting for you to post :D Looks not bad to me bar the bonnet I would have started with a GTI though.

**** it off if you like...

As you gave permission...

Seriously, what ARE you thinking? It's like a mobile advertisement for the benefits of the Scrappage scheme. It looks absolutely ridiculous, 'rat look' suits old VW's (infact thats a whole new thread, its arguable whether it suits anything' but on a Nissan its 'crap look'. The looks a complete mess, there are many things you can do to improve the way an Almera looks but this is not one of them. What a waste of effort.

Then... the mechanicals.

I really, really hoped 'AmeraT' was some sort of mad turbo conversion. I held off posting until I found out for sure. But to get to the trouble of an engine transplant only to stick a wheezy 2 litre in developing all of 140bhp? Whats the point? I love the way you say its really fast and keeps up with an Almera GTi as if thats some sort of acheivement, I drove a diesel 4 pot repmobile on Sunday that would keep up with an Almera GTI!

Just... wow. I'm really sorry, I like to try and find something positive about even the most hated of cars but the only positive thing about this is the fact that the money you've spent on it has at least gone towards keeping people in this country working at the suppliers you've used in a job.

You were so close to having it look half decent but... a matt black rat look Almera with a broken bonnet :( :( :(

I've been more harsh than usual cos he gave permission to **** it off :D

Thats how to do it. Much better.

i'm not sure

no offence to anyone, but the almera looks like ****
and making it look even worse has actually made it look better

I think people mod their cars to get a reaction. Wether you like it or not it brings someone to comment on ther car. That red alemra uptop looks in good contition but looks like an almera, but the ops is something that would make me look regardless if its a peice of poo or not.

He likes it and other pople don't. I personally like it because its different. It maybe not to everyones taste but there is some thought gone behind it and effort also put into it and i can only credit the op for that.

While this is true with many mods that affect looks (lowering, flip paint, etc..), other people do mods that are totally stealth (remap, ported head, etc..) and only affect performance, I guess people mod cars in different ways to achieve different results.

I can appreciate most mods, I quite like the fact that there is something that looks different from a boring generic box even if it's on a car I'm not normally a fan of! In fact I consider the Almera a pretty boring car, so I quite like the one with the camo looking bonnet! :) I prefered the rusty steel wheels on it also...

well u might think its wheezy and true 140 from a 2.0 isnt massive nowadays. but its not variable. its tough however, and moddable and can easily produce upto 170 with mild breathing mods on it.

also it only weighs what, 1100kg~ so its quite light, yes you may have drive a 2.0tdi repmobile that is quite fast but a 170bhp motor in a light car isnt that terrible.. especially as a a bit of a hobby project!

i do prefer the red almera i must say, and i have already said id start with a pirmera or gti base already but you do what u want!

It is not a 170bhp motor, it has 140bhp. Arguing based on the engines potential if he modifies it is pointless.

Coming soon to a thread near you - Peugeot 106's are faster than Ferraris!*
