What boss was the hardest youve ever had to fight. Maybe it was so hard you never got past him. Usally when you get stuck on a game its cause your lost, or stuck on a hard puzzle. These days bosses aint as strong as they used to be.

My hardest boss
Nemsis- Final Fantasy 10- Took about a week solid playing to beat him, the fight literally went on for way over an hour, i know its only turn based fighting but it was tense:eek:

The relief when i beaten him though, i havent cried for a long time:)

One that springs to mind was on Ultimate Doom on my Playstation years ago. There was a level called "The tower of Babel" and a big nasty cyber demon to try and beat. At the time it was quite hard to do :D

Hmmmmm.

There's probably been some really tough, obscure ones I can't remember from less popular games. Here's a few of mine, it's hard to choose one:

-Mr Big from Target Renegade
-The Kraken from Shining Force 2 (I'm sure there were tougher fights towards the end, but that's the one I remember)
-Diablo from Dialbo 2. Although, some of the other boss fights e.g. High Council were pretty tough. Hard to choose and depends a bit on what char you are using.
-Haflife boss simply because it was annoying/frustrating/time consuming. The actual combat wasn't that hard I guess.
-Xaero from Quake3 on Nightmare skill. The game is 8 years old now and I still haven't beaten him.

On a side note, I'd like to add that my favourite type of boss is one which is just a real tough/powerful foe - no gimmicks. I really hate the way some bosses can only be beaten using some trick (often pushing buttons or somehow using the environment), even if you have a massive stockpile of ammo. The Quake bosses suffer from this, both Chthon and Shub cannot be killed by normal means. Compare to Quake 2 where you can let him have it with the BFG loads of times. Much better.

weapons in general probably are the hardest, mainly in the amount of time it took to kill one. TBH as much as I loved ff7 I think having beaten the weapons sephiroth was a big disapointment. This was fixed a bit in ff8 tho as (insert name I have forgotten) was harder and the weapons where much easier.

Also M Bison was hard in street fighter 2 at top difficulty.

Edit: Hardest emotionally for me was end of ff9, I beat the boss, the end movie started which I alwasy loved in ff. Only to find my disk was scratched at that point and it wouldnt play. I was not impressed. I still havent see the end of that game.

Nearly posted that myself (Arcade version of hyperfighting), but figured I'd just make myself look a n00b in front of all the uber-pro SF2 legends who can beat everyone with a single fingernail while blindfolded. You just seemed to get owned by psychocrushers all the time. The console versions seemed a lot easier.

lol, and Im taking about the consle version. Dont think I beat him more than a hand full of times.

Ruby weapon in FF7- to win you have to start the battle with 2/3 of your team unconcious & using the most powerfull materia/mana against them cause reflection or it was immune.

M.Bison in Street Fighter II Turbo on snes was also a fair contender on hard mode.

I also recall playing Halflife opposing force and fighting that large gelatenous blob that guarded the portal tricky as everytime you attacked him it summoned some hunter dudes from its belly! :o

Another vote for Ruby weapon.......still havent beat tha red beast :(

first time through ff7 the cosmo canyon boss ( untill i found the phoenix down trick :D ) deamons gate ( MY GODDDDDDDD ) and the lost number, they all kicked my arse for a while :(

Malak wasn't so tough! It's just that the rest of KOTR was so easy! I had a bit of trouble with him cause I had specced my character in the rogue/support class, so he didn't have much oomph in combat (I used Bastila and that catwoman Jedi as tanks and my main character used force powers to support them, as well as being a gentleman by opening doors, hacking computers and repairing droids for them!:p). So I basically had to fight Malak with a rogue character.

That very first red dragon you fight in BG2, while not that hard, was damned impressive! First fight in there that gave me that epic monster-slaying feeling... Later on in that game you got so ridiculously powerful that most big monsters and bosses were a bit anticlimatic. I remember a lot of people had trouble with Kangaxx in that game, but I found him easy.

That first time the vampire thing turns up in Severance was a bit tough, but I got through it. Still stuck on the very last boss down in the Abbyss or whatever it's called though.

The final fight in Ragna Rock in the first Max Payne was pretty hardcore, but it wasn't really because of Jack Lupino himself, more the stupid number of henchmen he throes at you, so I'd say he doesn't count.

I'd say 2-way tie between Xaero and Jinpachi. Xaero is a gold standard of excellence, but a great player will consistently beat him (not that I've met anyone that good). Jinpachi though is a huge festering pile of cheesy, low tricks that serve nothing but to eat your credit! :p

Hardest boss? I play online now, playing against a pc is dull in comparison. I got stuck in quake 4 single player, the arena room. Too many enemies, not accurate enough.
