Harry and Meghan to resign

How much would you sell your family out for, could you put a figure on it?

I get the feeling he feels like his family sold him out.

You seem to feel like I'm defending him here, I'm not. I think their treatment by the press in this country was and is shameful but that is as much on the people who buy that press, it would stop tomorrow if people didn't lap it up. And the Firm seemed very happy to do nothing about it.

I wouldn't sell my family out but then I'd hope my family wouldn't treat me like they've treated him. Like I said before its one of the most dysfunctional families I've ever seen, none of them are worth crying over, all in it for themselves and to keep suckling on that golden teat.

How have they done that? IT seems to be some conspiracy stuff on his part re: unsubstantiated claims about Camila leaking stores... when H&M have been outright talking to the press over and over spilling dirt.

There isn't much they can do about it, a free press is a fundamental part of living in a democracy and as it turns out the various stories they got upset about turned out to be about genuine issues, there were issues with the relationship between the two couples in the "Fab 4", William did warn him not to rush to Marry Meghan, there was friction between Meghan and staff members leading to bullying allegations and staff quitting, there was drama with Kate over some bridesmaid dress issue.

Harry seems to be upset at William in part because in Harry's eyes William has believed press stories about Meghan and the staff issues, he doesn't seem to want to consider that perhaps William had other sources for that and maybe there were issues with Meghan, especially given just how many people quit and the fact that there have been bullying accusations made.

I said I get the feeling he feels like his family sold him out, not that they did. From what I've read he seems to think they weren't there to protect her when the British press piled on, even in the early days like before the wedding. I'll be amazed if The Firm weren't back channeling the tabloids as things started to go wrong, why change after decades of doing the same thing?

Our press are some of the worst in the free world. Utter scum who would sell anyone out for a story, true or not, happy to ruin live for clicks.

Back in reality though they issued multiple corrections so exactly, why wouldn't they do so?

As for the press being scum, is there anything substantial to that? The large aspects of the stories seemed to have turned out to be true, it seems more like he's happy to use the media for his own purposes but doesn't like it when he can't control the narrative rather than journalists being "scum" for reporting things that might be inconvenient.

If you're a public figure you're not entitled to only have positive coverage and no criticism ever, it's absolutely ludicrous.

As I mentioned earlier, his ex-military colleagues are now starting to speak out about the stories he's told which he has clearly just invented, either to spice the book up or because his memory is now actually detached from reality -

Recollections may vary.

It's a book of Harrys recollections translated by a ghostwriter, this won't be one of those memoirs that gets rated highly as reference material.

I have no dog in this fight but those three sources are pretty much just echo chambers of each other.

Wouldn't surprise me if a ghostwriter had spiced it up (dailymailed it) but I'd have thought Harry would have ultimately have had say over what was and wasn't in there.

The DM did an article covering an incident on the road I was involved in and their version of events isn't even remotely representative of the reality :s

Not the DM, but I have submitted several pieces to the papers over the years and have seen them take what I wrote, photographed and experienced and changed them completely to something better suited to the pointing and tutting population.

So totally agree with what you wrote there and probably explains my complete dislike and mistrust of most of the press.

I know but there's just one single source for the story (the gentlemen himself) and its been reported on by various different media. Sadly when folks post just a single report from for example, the Daily Mail, others always complain about it being "LOL DM, not reading that trash" etc so I posted multiple links to various reports to hopefully avoid that.

Daily Fail has the details of the woman who took his virginity and it's not pretty:

Granted this is her now rather than then but still in the younger photos she's a bit chubby too and surely if you're 3rd in line to the throne as he was you could do waaay better!

Christ Dowie, I already have a really low bar but you've just limbo'd under like an octopus. Who cares about any of this crap, and why?

Nothing wrong with a good honest plumper. I'm quite partial to 'em myself.
