Has anyone got a delid tool?

i may do this for people on this forum as the trust system is good and i can see feedback easily. as for your point about swapping out the cpu, they have unique numbers on both pcb and ihs so i wouldn't be able to do that if you took note of said numbers. the main problem i have with sending my tool out is that i buy cpu's all the time, so i would have to make a time where someone could use it.

Ah didn't realize you buy CPU's all the time. If you do decide to do it please let me know as will happily pay postage and beer money for the use of it to a UK address.

Lawrence don't waste your time man. If a guy is not willing to just send to u and wait. Then they should buy a tool themselves. U will make your money back doing benching guys anyway.

Liquid metal is conductive junk.

Problem is the tool is overpriced to make it worthwhile for a single CPU. Not a very helpful post really or is it because we are not "benching guys" that its too much hassle?

I think its better to just keep selling it on rather than "lending" it out. if you buy it for £40 2nd hand and sell it for £40 when your done, then its exactly the same thing

Lawrence is benching so has many CPU to delid. Why would he want to sell on.

With Skylake thick paste is better than liquid metal. I tested.

I didn't suggest sell it on. As other have done on this forum with other items (Including myself) it just gets hired for a few days to be used and then returned for a small fee.

When are these due in stock anyway?

Just checked with Roman CK have stock now so I will make sure they ship some to us next week.
great. I have 1 ivy and a couple of Haswell chips to do but as soon as the as rock z170m oc formula is out I'll be picking up a few skylake chips as well. Definitely not going to sell it on unless Intel decide to start soldering their cpus again, but I might lend it out if I have no other chips that need doing.

Skylake TIM is pretty decent, isn't it? Disregarding some defective applications of the stuff from the factory, is there a consistently noticeable gain from the bother?

Thats great please let me know.

What TIM are people using now when Deliding ? Liquid metal was the in thing a few months ago. My 4790k getting too hot given its on a custom loop. Any one managed to Lend the tool out ? I would be happy to pay a deposit to borrow but 60 sheets on a tool im going to use once is too much.

yes i will :)

depends on what you are doing and how much risk you want to take, i will you kryonaut, because its not conductive and its miles better for sub zero overclocking. liquid metal can be risky as it is conductive and once its one there its probably not going to come off without a fight, but it may give you slightly better temps with air or water cooling. its down to personal preference really.

Liquid ultra/pro is still the best for heat transfer with deliding.

What plastic should I choose if I were to order one of these from shapeways.

Edit* I ordered a 3D printed one. Will probably stick it on the MM once ive done mine for others to use.

Kryonaut vs CLU for Die to IHS??

8Pack doesn't seem to have much time for CLU however there are certainly mixed opinions.

Also what about longevity of both?

you can't get clu off very easy at all so it will last forever and if it cracks then that is it for the cpu. Never tested kryonaut over a really long period, but it should last 3 years easy.

Is that for Haswell or skylake? They should be OK with Haswell but they might flex too much for skylake

If some one had a 3d printer they could be raking in some money right about now haha. I do think the delid is well over priced for what it is tbh. £30 ish quid and im sure profit is still made on each unit. Low end of 30 quid is more a reasonable price.
