Have £730 from insurance

tbh i have a 5850 at the mo and use it with the benq 24" monitor, i have no problems maxing most games out, inc bfbc2, lfd2, cs:s, burnout paradise, batman AA etc, just games like crysis and metro, 560 will still be great with the change in res, if you can afford it though go for the best gpu you can now.

if it was my money i would have something like this

if the cpu cooler doesnt fit your case then you can change it out to a compact wc one instead.

Researching all day, am starting to get confused now lol, does everyone else change their baskets so often or is it just a girl thing?

I now have this lol
MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti OC Twin FrozR II 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £214.99
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - OEM £173.99
Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) £144.98
Antec TruePower New Blue Modular 750W Power Supply - With FREE 3D Mark 2011 Advance £114.98
Corsair A70 High-Performance Dual Fan CPU Cooler £42.89
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) £41.99
Total : £745.82

still storage to decide upon. I already own a 250gb samsung and a 500gb hitachi drives along with 2 x external usb 2 drives at 750gb each, one for movies, the other for music, photos, back ups and setup files. But am looking to get my OS onto raid 0 or an ssd could prob push to a £900 limit so £144 left just for storage assuming my case will be ok.

Why the GTX560 Ti?

I showed you a benchmark ;) :p

Case will be fine, no point in OS just for boot, and at any rate, next gen of SSD will be out soon - so wait for them!

+1

great spec, an ssd will finish it off.

Thanks guys that means a lot, spent a long time deciding so am glad it was worth it. Will go for the Crucial C300 SSD, might even be able to get a bigger one if I can raid my husbands pockets after he stumbles in from the pub tonight  :) ;)

Is a OCZ Vertex 2 "25nm Edition" 80GB 2.5" a no no? I would prefer bigger than 64gb so is the performance of the 6gb per second Crucial a noticeable difference?

In fact over the 2 which would you get just?

i went for the c300, i use it just as a boot disk and for main programs like firefox etc, space wasnt an issue, i swapped my steam folder to my 1tb hdd because i had too many games i needed to install, it all loads super fast anyway. i think my boot time after bios is like 8 seconds or so, i can do a boottimer if you want.

Sata III *** btw

wow that is quick, not that booting quickly is really an advantage to me, but if it does that quick then windows updates etc will be quick too? I, like you would prob need to put my Steam games on a separate drive, but for likes of playing Black ops loading maps fast in multi player has no real advantage, unless u wanna shoot out windows before round starts or something lol

I put SP1 on my win7 install, the installer said this will take a while, my pc did it in a minute or two:D

Gonna install my ssd tomorrow. does anyone know if you can install steam games in different locations on different drives?
got far too many for the ssd, but would bo nice to put a few on there

can't remember the last time i actually bought a proper disc!

Lol that is what I need I get bored waiting far too quickly and start doing things I shouldn't. Didn't even notice there was an SP1, might have to get a proper installation disc, unless I was already on SP1 hmm

Don't they all need to be in the main Steam folder? Am sure I read that, but a few years ago so maybe different now.

you cant seperate the steam files, that would be great to have steam and your most played games on the ssd, one thing you could do which i did for a while, is make back ups of all your games. Keep them on the hdd and just install the game you want to play.

again i was uninstalling, reinstalling games way too much so just decided to put my whole steam folder on the hdd.

current steam library =p.....

(dont know why its like a double image?)

I'm pretty sure that they do, but just wondered if there was a way?

One for the games forum anyway, didn't mean to hijack:)

Cool let me know if you find out please, might have to do that too, although I own about 30 steam games going back to CoD and CS and only had MW2 and Black Ops installed on last machine.

i spent far too much on steam over christmas. Red Faction Guerilla for £3.99, i'm never even going to play it!
Bought all GTA's as well when i already had them on 360 too...
