Have i been an idiot..?

Should have instructed her to use diesel.

Then when her car fails to pull out of the fore-court, you kindly offer her a lift home in your car.

Job done.

lol I'm not that mean, plus if she did really know which one to use i would have looked like a complete ****.

Maybe she was dyslexic and didn't know which colour was which. On my Civic it says "use unleaded petrol only" in black writing, whereas another car I drove once had "Unleaded" in big green letters on the fuel cap.

I once helped a woman with a Merc who didn't know how to open the fuel cap or work the pump  . She was about mid 30s and it was the first time she had taken the car out on her own. She kept apologising for seeming stupid but her husband had always filled the car up before.

Mind you she did know what type of fuel to use and which pump it was.

I think you are reading into the situation too much - the girl was probably just being friendly after you helped her out.

Just asked the wife too, & she thinks most of you are mad.

All the girl did was ask for assistance - and then smiled back.

She also said " For gods sake, we are in 2006 - If the girl wanted him, she would have said so herself & if she an ounce of sense, she would have realised that the guy would have taken the wrong meaning out of the situation - & she was in a garage, the last place most normal/sober girls would hit on a complete stranger"

I must be missing out on all these girls, can you ask your missus where I can find them? Last time I checked, most girls were all about mixed emotions, confusing "read-between-the-lines" signals and would never just walk up to a random bloke and ask him out! Also, isn't the best place to meet someone a supermarket/shop/gym/other random place? What's wrong with a petrol station?
