Well, I was a mad teenager, 2 fights a week was common place........yep Middlesbrough is a rough place u know!!, hell my sister went to prison......she was worse than me, she beat up lads for a living....

I respected my elders though, Although I could really look after myself I knew what people not to cross......

As you grow up, things start slowing down, you start to think more of the consequences of your actions. I suppose you get wiser......

I have'nt had a fight for years, anyhow, My knuckles are bust.....and my back aches every once in a while........

Ok, ..............I have 2 sons, aged 13 and 10.........its there time to share some knuckles..........Im just too old..

A little of topic, but who cares............

I like my kids to be street wise, whats the point in wrapping them up in cotton wool?......

True I knew people who could kick flies out of the air, but when it come to fighting, they were kicked all over....

Erm... tough one. I've had to get involved when mates are in the middle of something, and yeah, as part of that I've thrown a couple of punches where appropriate, and taken a couple myself. But I've never started one, or given someone reason to start one with me (come close a couple of times).

Pretty much the same as me, I can passively handle someone having a problem with me but with my friends it's different matter so there have been a few fisty cuffs here and there, mainly with "what u lookin at..........you got a problem" type idiots.

How do you answer this without looking like a keyboard warrior?

Yes i've had occasion to hit people or wrestle them to the ground, no i dont get "started" on when i go out as i dont walk around and act like i own the place, or go shouting my mouth off about how great i am.

In some places that's the reason you get started on :p

21 and never been in a real fight. Lived in a nice enough area my whole life. High school wasnt all that bad. Verbal abuse yea but kids around there werent really as tough as their mouths.

I dont know what that says about me. I'd rather not ever get in a real fight. If it came down to it I'd do my best to run, settle it with words or finally go blow for blow and hope to God I come out ontop. At times fights seem like luck with the way some people throw punches. I think my years of martial arts would probably fall apart on the street and it would come down to hooks and chav kicks :p . I'm not a chav btw lol. Just seems whenever any of us brits get down to fighting on the street its the same old kinda thing.

Oh just to add to my recent post, My current G/F for 15 years has 5 brothers, ages between 17-25..........yep.......she wins the arguments all the time...............

On a more serious note though, its beter just to walk away......live another day.....

What for behaving like a normal person?
There is a difference from slouching around like a punchbag in waiting and just being normal. :)

You should try walking around where I live sometimes. Just looking at someone can warrant a punch.

- It isn't that rough... really!

Have you ever been in a fight? No
Are you often in fights? No (none in 22 years)
Are you the type who gets picked on when out? Never had a problem. I'm a pretty big guy and whether that puts people off, I'm not sure.
Any other relevant info? Although a lot of it probably stems from not looking for trouble, not hanging about with the wrong people, I'd say ultimately some of it is down to luck. My brother was attacked about 18 months ago by a group of youths, one of which bit through his ear. Totally unprovoked and could have happened to anyone - just seemed to be a bunch of societies dregs out to prove something to themselves. They never were caught or anything.

However, despite my fairly gentle nature and the fact I've always managed to avoid getting in a fight, I'd definately stand up for a friend or family member without batting an eyelid.

The night my brother was set upon I was fuming. I got there at the same time as the ambulance and the police weren't far off having to restrain me as I fancied my look going after those who start on him (no idea where I would have started looking, but I was on a bit of a mission!)

I've only ever been in one fight, and that was because a mate of mine was stupid enough to get involved in one and I had to get him out of it. I almost refused to give him a lift home for being such a knob.

I smacked a couple of guys around in school because they thought it would be funny to take the **** but I don't think you could really call that a fight. I used to attract that kind of trouble at school because I was really clever, I had ginger hair and I wore glasses. I got used to it after a while.

Are you the type who gets picked on when out? I used to seem to get singled out quite a lot when I was out but the past 2 years or so since I’ve started going to the gym and learning Krav Maga nobody has started on me.

Any other relevant info?

The last time I had to resort to violence was about 4-5 months ago, me and my then girlfriend were standing at the taxi rank and the queue was massive so we had a bit of a wait, finally got near the front and these two neds and a girl/thing , decided to try and jump in front of us. I stayed calm and just told them to wait like the rest of us, was promptly told to **** off so I just left it. As the next taxi pulled up I went forward and told the driver what they had just done and he refused to let them in, obviously they weren’t to happy about this and one of them swung for me, managed to block his punch and lock his arm, pulled him in close and gave him about 5 knees to his stomach/rib area, he crumpled to the ground while his mate stood watching. Got a load of verbal of the girl but nothing else happened. Got in the taxi and that was that.

I try to avoid confrontations at all costs, you never know what people are carrying, don’t want to get stabbed.

Such a repost, god where do you people get off ;)

crazy story! feel bad for your wife, but still detailing this beast as a man, police musta thought what is this guy on!

as for me and fights...

one when i was at primary school, i must have been about 8, i got punched in the forehead after kicking another guy in the bean bag for saying something about me (i forget what, it was 11 years ago). since then ive never been in a fight.. i tend not to provoke people, and try and avoid people wherever possible really haha!
and yes, i am the kind of guy that gets picked on when i'm out on my own. because i'm weak looking and chavs just seem to love a weak looking metaller!
i tend to just keep walking with my headphones in ignoring whatever they're shouting. sometimes put on a jog when they start to follow me (its happened a couple of times!)
